    An Ageing Indian Side

Well, surprise surprise !! The most successful opener after Gavaskar and Sehwag was Ravi Shastri who averaged 44 as an opener in 17 test matches with 4 hundreds and 3 fifties. But I agree about Ramesh. He wasn't tried much outside the sub-continent, except the Aus series of 1999 in which...

Here's an idea for Englands ODI squad!!

Yep I would fully agree. He was the last among the Windies greats, but with his career being cut down, he just didn't make it big like the others.

    Pakistan vs. West Indies

Well my wish is coming true I guess. The Aussies get whipped and now Pak gets whipped. The only part left out is England getting whipped. what a sequence of events to make my desires come true.....it must be a conspiracy   ....only if India were in the scheme of things.

Here's an idea for Englands ODI squad!!

Ambrose and Garner before him, had this remarkable ability to get an incredible amount of bounce right from just short of good length which would climb sharply into the rib cage of a batsman because its almost a good length delivery instead of the normal short stuff. They could do this at will in...

    England vs. Australia, 21st Sept

Wow ! this is wonderful. Someone thrashes the Aussies. :p :p congrats to the English team and fans for beating the old foe. i will love reading the Aussie papers this morning. Now, WI should win the other match and thrash the English in the final, that would be the icing on the cake...

    England vs. Australia, 21st Sept

Hmmm.... this is looking interesting. I never gave England a chance against the Aussies, but looking at the scores now at 96/1 from 17 overs, I would say England have a game on here.

Aussies threatening to cancel India tour

If this happens, Dalmiya should be hanged in public.

What u feel and What u want???

I would like to see - Aus vs WI and WI win and if it is - Aus vs Pak, then Pak win. But the truth is most likely gonna be - Aus vs Pak and Aus win

Sep 19Th The day has arrieved

Well. Congrats to Pakistan on an excellent win in a very interesting match. The best match of the tournament so far. India's batting let it down. The fielding and bowling did a valiant effort but 200 was always a modest score to defend. Also those misfields towards the end didn't help. But an...

    The Ultimate Bowler

All the above bowled with the final frog action of Paul Adams and a runup as smooth as Mike Holding. :p :p

Players Who You Predicted Would Be Great................

I have pretty much seen all the test matches that Kambli played and a good number of his ODIs as well. He had the traditional Indian batsman's weakness outside the offstump and against short pitched stuff, but his weakness outside the offstump was not compensated in any way by something other...

    Ricky Ponting...

yeah I know. BTW, I thought you should feel like a kid sometimes and if I club you with some of these other juveniles it just might work :D :D

    Ricky Ponting...

Man, this is some acrimonious thread...eh ! so thought i should chime in a little bit from a neutral standpoint. There is no reason to look at Vaughan's record against Ponting's in ODIs as he has captained England only in 27 ODIs with a success rate of 51 % which has been the success rate of...

    **Official** Australia in India Thread

Well looks like there is a possibility of the TV rights issue that has been created by BCCI and that money mongering SOB Dalmiya, putting the series in jeopardy, although I believe its a stretch. http://foxsports.news.com.au/story/0,8659,10792003-23212,00.html

    Did Anybody notice....hahah

Yep, that was one cracker of a match. Still can't forget how much fireworks I personally lighted that night, but it brings back memories of the semi final versus SL and I blank out the whole year of 1996 from my memory.

    The Ultimate Bowler

why ? anyone who has seen both of them at their peak cannot tell the difference. and if you are a stats junkie, you won't be able to tell the difference either. Ambrose has a better economy rate then McGrath in both forms of the game....tests and ODIs.

Zaheer is Mentally Lazy - Bruce Reid

Yes I see your point. and that attitude needs to change if India has to become a top force in cricket because constructive criticism needs to be given its due without thinking negatively like it has happened in most cases till now.

Zaheer is Mentally Lazy - Bruce Reid

Those are very good observations. The inconsistency of the Indian pacers has been a perennial problem. That's what was Srinath's undoing when he had the makings of one of the best pacers of his time. If Zaheer lacks in commitment too, that's very serious because he is young and has a big career...

Who is gonna win the Sept 19th clash???

Come on fellas. this forum is for talking about cricket. And most people here support their own team and oppose other teams.why is that bad ? i can say, I hate Australia in cricket and want them beaten every time they play anyone in the world including USA(well maybe that was a dream I had;)...
