    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Finn Allen turning out for Auckland.

    Aravinda de Silva

Got to see him play live at Blake Park (now Bay Oval) for Auckland against ND in the mid-90's after Sri Lanka won the WC. Simon Doull tried to bounce him and was dispatched to the boundary. That season he also set the record for fastest Shell Cup century taking apart Geoff Allott who was equal...

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Presumably injured. Have to say everytime McKenzie plays for one of these selection XI's he seems to get runs at a quick rate. Can the Black Caps just pick him to stop him being snaffled by rugby?

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Just looking up that 1 ton away was in that match and series winning partnership with Williamson against Pakistan in 2018. He also scored two half centuries in that series finishing the 3rd highest run scorer averaging ~57. It's bizarre he's struggled so much overseas since.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Looks like Jock McKenzie is continuing his cricket after playing Super Rugby earlier this year. Quite a few names I'm not familiar with alongside him in the NZ Development side. Hamish Rutherford turning out for Otago A along with the Cumming brothers and Wheeler-Greenall...

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

You would think there would have to be *some* explanation as to wtf he was doing. Saying it was unlikely to alter the ball doesn't address why he was doing it. It is interesting how the media landscape has changed, Wisden and ESPN at least tweeted about it.

    ***Official***Match #41- New Zeland vs Sri Lanka - November 9th - Bengaluru (D/N)

This is pretty good although Nathan Astle or Glenn Turner might still be ahead of Conway while Crowe would be close for the 5 spot.

*Official* New Zealand in Bangladesh 2023/24

Perhaps if Nichols is out then they could move Latham to 5 and open with Ravindra. I don't think there is any chance they would actually drop Latham from the side though - averages 41.5 and seems to be the back-up captain across formats.

If Nichols is suspended over this ball tampering issue would Young or Phillips come in at number 5?

Back when Astle was a batsman.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

I think Jeremy Coney once bowled a pine cone in a first class match.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

I have this vague memory that Adams roomed with Williamson on an NZ Emerging players tour earlier that year so he was extra protective of him. Granted he doesn't appear in the scorecards from the tour, maybe was only there for experience ahead of the under 19 WC (or I've misremembered)...

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Looks like a decent innings from Greenwood. Strong pull shots.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

I remember him bowling Andrew de Boorder at the Basin with that yorker. Came around the wicket to him. Left armer who could bowl in the 140's. Apparently he eventually played for the Black Caps because Vettori faced him in a domestic game and rated him. Yeah, Robinson's stroke play is really...

    ***Official***Match #35 - New Zealand vs Pakistan - November 4th - Bengaluru

Who knows, but DWL setting 180/1 after 25.3 overs doesn't seem a reasonable target in response to 401. Statistically it seems a *lot* more likely a side is going to reach 180/1 after 25 overs (not uncommon in T20) than score 402 in an ODI (neither side had scored over 400 before yesterday...

Really appreciate how important Henry has become to this side. Presumably Jamieson will play the next game. Someone above mentioned Sodhi didn't have a great record against Pakistan so would have been interesting to hear the selection discussion.

You jinxed Conway, no need to go whole hog :-)

Wow, that it crazy. They actually did it. Well batted Black Caps.

Phillips our hardest hitter since Corey Anderson.

Yeah, Crowe got 107 and Fleming an unbeaten 78.
