chicane said:Oh and they are the easiest to handle aren't they? You have some dumb idea that Australia was all in favour of India and the Australian bowling was bullshit.
To be fair, I'm not sure I'd have him in my All Time XI for definite!chicane said:And there's this wise guy who leaves out Tendulkar from his all time XI....
Oh really then why all the comparisons of age, the first few innings etc..marc71178 said:Except, not one person has actaully said that they think he is...
Gillespie bowled pretty well and Lee was just himself, and they played the attack put out to them. And India may have perfromed just as well even against that attack, they had the batting to do it.marc71178 said:No, but it was by no means the best attack they've put out - Where they had a world beating quartet of McGrath, Gillespie, Lee (pre-injury) and Warne they now had an off-key Gillespie and some unproven inexperienced players.
Well if you're interested in picking the very best players for your side then it'll be hard to overlook him.marc71178 said:To be fair, I'm not sure I'd have him in my All Time XI for definite!
He's competing with the likes of Bradman, Richards, Richards, Sobers, Headley, Chappell, Miandad, Barrington, Hammond, Pollock, Lara, Weekes, Walcott.chicane said:Well if you're interested in picking the very best players for your side then it'll be hard to overlook him.
Out of all those you listed only Bradman and Lara can be considered to be definitely better (as batsmen).marc71178 said:He's competing with the likes of Bradman, Richards, Richards, Sobers, Headley, Chappell, Miandad, Barrington, Hammond, Pollock, Lara, Weekes, Walcott.
So like I said he's by no means an automatic selection for an all-time XI.
It was pointed out as a coincidence and EVERY poster has said they don't think it's likely.chicane said:Oh really then why all the comparisons of age, the first few innings etc..
He's not a certain pick, but he's high up in the pecking order. Although most would have him.marc71178 said:In your eyes.
But with a wealth of talent like that, how can he be a certain pick?
And I too was being sarcastic when I mentioned Parthiv. Why should I have a problem with you guys dreaming of good things?marc71178 said:It was pointed out as a coincidence and EVERY poster has said they don't think it's likely.
Then you come in and make an outlandish post based absolutely nothing
Because:chicane said:Another small point, but it happens with every team. And the majority prefer Patel, there's only one guy who wants Nayan Mongia back..
maybe we shud have a poll, who would have tendulkar in an all time XI? Not trying to be devil's advocate but i wouldn't.chicane said:He's not a certain pick, but he's high up in the pecking order. Although most would have him.
oh I forgot you I was talking about Arjun....hehe. So that's two guys.Sudeep said:Because:
(a) he's the best wicket-keeper in India
(b) he's an improved batsman
(c) And he's not the only one who made mistakes, contrary to what all think.
