The bails were knocked off and the moment they are disturbed, i.e when the stump moves to dislodge them is the moment the batsman is run out. That's my understanding of the run out rule anyway.Scallywag said:I may be wrong but dosent the bails have to be broken regardless of what the stump does. I have seen the ball hit the stumps and rattle the bails but because they didnt fall the batsman was not out. Was there a frame where it showed the bails off and Gilly out of his ground.
So he got even with them by not giving out??eastley said:Reason why those decisions were turned down was because the Pakistanies yelled at him to much, and Clarke has opened before for Australia and went fine just because he fails once doesn't mean he sucks.
I agree that the bails were clearly dislodged but it seems they were hung up on the fact that they were TOTALLY dislodged meaning they were not in the air. Im not sure how the rule goes.Fiery said:The bails were knocked off and the moment they are disturbed, i.e when the stump moves to dislodge them is the moment the batsman is run out. No not exactly, the umpires are under strict rules now to not be attimidated by bowlers so yelling at the umpire gets you no where anymore, just a simple "howz that" and nothing more would of been better. Not this yelling for 10 seconds straight.Unattainableguy said:So he got even with them by not giving out??
Well I never saw the wicket of clarke, but even the best in the world make stupid mistakes, its how he rebounds from it will tell his class.Arrow said:I agree that the bails were clearly dislodged but it seems they were hung up on the fact that they were TOTALLY dislodged meaning they were not in the air. In regards to clark, its not just that he failed its how he failed. have you ever seen him so subdued?
It looked really hard to bat out there, early. I was a little surprised that Ponting decided to bat first, but he might have gotten spooked by the Duckworth-Lewis situation last week.Arrow said:Was also interesting to see clarke TOTALLY wilt under pressure. Low score with a bad strike rate. Welcome to the big time pup.
Thats why they have umpires out there who are unbiased.Fiery said:I might have to stand corrected.
Law 28 (The wicket is down)
1. Wicket put down
(a) The wicket is put down if a bail is completely removed from the top of the stumps, or a stump is struck out of the ground by
(i) the ball...
Ok so it was clearly not out!Fiery said:I might have to stand corrected.

What about the LBWs were they good decisions . But u have to give Pakistan credit for the way they have comebackScallywag said:You get to see that a lot being an Australian supporter, posters going overboard about a decision that supposedly is shocking and favoring Australia but in reality it was a very good decision.
It wasnt bias though it was just a lack of rule knowledge. I thought the bails just had to be dislodged not totally.Scallywag said:You get to see that a lot being an Australian supporter, posters going overboard about a decision that supposedly is shocking and favoring Australia but in reality it was a very good decision.
