Nah more obscure and more recent than Thorpe. Might just be the two names I mentioned that I'm thinking of, but it feels like there was someone else.
sounds like a new rule.I'll remind everyone once again that CW is not a place for nationalistic dick-waving. Whether your team won or lost has absolutely no impact on your right to express your opinion on how a player performed, or whether that opinion is valid.
The point, as Marc alluded to, is that the Aussies have historically gone out and won after puff pieces like that. It's risky and I'm no fan of it but, well, the results spoke for themselves. Contrast that with SA; so often they've gone on to lose the next Test, followed by a flurry of 'How did that happen? Woe.' articles. Last time they beat Australia they did just shut up and win, even afterward the response was fairly muted. They did the job instead of telling anyone with a Zoom mic that they were gonna shove it up the oppo. **** like that just makes me hope they get schtonkered by England in the next Test. This coming from an Aussie?
I don't think it's a great excuse for this current result, but it does explain a lot of the results we have been seeing in world cricket.Ed Smith: How did England go from great to godawful? | Opinion | Cricinfo Magazine | ESPN Cricinfo
I didn't quite agree with the article. Blaming England's loss to England playing excessive cricket?
I think they should get away with minimal interruptions on Thursday and Friday, but it looks awful for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.Weather's looking pretty gash for next few days. Shame if the forecasts are correct.
[ To Correct you : Steyn, Philander, Morkel, Kallis, Tahir ]England to win the next test btw. I can feel it coming, despite the best efforts of Steyn and Philander.
Smith, Amla and AB to go quick. Kallis to be left trying to work with Alviro and Rudolph when the ball is swinging i.e. those two are ****ed.
somehow I get the feeling that you will be proven wrongMy Money is on Kallis, Amla is a brilliant batsman, but i don't see him making hundreds every game, doubt he will do it again easily in this series,
O and for the guys bashing Morne Morkel, Just know he always takes a game or two to warm up, he is one of those players that gets better as he goes, and i hope after this series he will silence alot of the gay bashers in this forum.
We'll see. but your feelings were wrong about the last match, so i wouldn't trust them much.somehow I get the feeling that you will be proven wrong
we will see indeed. We'll see. but your feelings were wrong about the last match, so i wouldn't trust them much.
