Well, the ball can't possibly have gotten heavier - 156g has always been the standard weight, regardless of brand.

Morkel just bowled his usual dross and England contrived to gift him several wickets. They were pretty giving towards all the bowlers, but Morkel in particular must have thought it was Christmas come early.

I actually think it was a tactical comment more than anything. Morkel is widely considered to be a confidence bowler so they probably think blowing smoke up his arse will help him, whether it's deserved or not.
