I'll be there on Friday.

My previous Headingley trips have seen us lose by Ten Wickets, and an Innings, so erm, yeah
You gonna have a beer in that pub near the station?

You might actually pay for a pint this time, ****.

I've seen this movie before. Saffers win - and win big - the first test of an important series, then somehow fail to seal the series victory their paper strength would suggest should inevitably result.

I expect England to win at Headingley. SA batting is slightly stronger, and Steyn and Philander are scary good and should cause major problems for our top order with their accuracy and movement.

But I think we can do it. Just need Anderson and Broad back on form and snaffling the key wickets of Amla and Smith with the new ball. Even though I love watching Amla probably more than any current batsman - even Sanga or Clarke - here's hoping he'll go cheaply flashing to gully. Twice. On the third day.

there really will be little coverage of this match with the olympics going on. Aggers(tms) and Nicholas(5 highlights) are both at the olympics working. The players are bothered but there'll be little coverage in the press and unless your a cricket fanatic most people aren't that bothered currently here in the uk - which is a shame for two of the better teams in the world. For instance the ground isn't even a sellout on any days which is rare in england when good teams meet.

Surely England don't have much pressure on them compared to what would happen if this were two months earlier, there'd be barely any press coverage and talk about the game in the lead-up.

hell of a risk if england play four seamers and no swann. wickets all over the country have been taking turn recently

Gee I dunno. Playing four seamers can work if you have a good 5th bowler that can give the others a rest, but when your backup options are KP and Trott...

This is even beyond the obvious balance issues.

Nah, the more I think about it the more I think the England selectors have made a collossal ****-up here. Basically relying on a spell or two of unvarnished brilliance by their kingpins, which is not really how you want to go into a crunch Test match
