***Official*** England in Pakistan

Excellent result for Pak. This is a character building win for Pakistan and should instill some self belief in the team. Great the way they fought back and did not crumble under enormous pressure... England..well cant help but feel they let themselves down in the first innings after being in the driving seat..Flinty cant do everything..bowl his heart out and then pull themselves out of batting woes too..

For Pak I would like to see YoMo dropped for next two matches and possibly Sami but I just cannot see it happening. We need Afridi in place of Sami.

For the 3-0 brigade and whoever HowardUK is I recommend Tabasco sauce!! ;)

Teletext?

Basically, it's text updates on the TV. I don't think it has commentary tho (not sure)
No it doesn't. The updates aren't written very often, and the scorecard is usually a couple of minutes behind.

I remember following the last over of the NW final in the summer, when Giles scampered those legbyes to tie the game. Ceefax took an eternity to update which struck me as most unreasonable at the time.

I'd recommend tabasco sauce for everyone.

I had some on toasted cheese for breakfast this morning.

For lunch, I'm having a chicken sandwich, but I'm not sure whether to put tabasco or peri peri on it. Decisions, decisions.

Yup.

Normal odour.

Stinks.

Heh, heh.

We cant even play football yet were still better than Uruguay.

In all seriousness, one of the greatest nights in Aus sports and I'll be there in 2006.

Let's not worry about the detail of my prediction, other than to say that I am still on track for my 2-1 England series victory.

Not everyone can get accustomed to the spice but it is definnetly recommended for plain fare..Cannot advise on your chicken sandwich all depends on whether it is infected by foot-in-mouth disease.

Why, peri peri of course. What else goes better with chicken?

I very rarely suffer from foot in mouth disease, because I tend not to make rash predictions (like whether the sun is actually come up tomorrow, what do we actually mean by 'come up' etc).

My budgie is just a metre away from my desk though, so I'd better watch out for the bird flu.

Anything short of a 3-0 victory in this series would seem to be a failure, according to most England supporters' pre-series thoughts.
Actually, didn't most people on here actually said we'd be happy with a series win, regardless of score - I don't remember a 3-0 prediction from any of the forum regulars.

As for England throwing the match away rather than Pakistan winning it - England probably wouldn't have been in a position to throw it away had it not been for another enormous stroke of luck.
What "enormous stroke of luck" is this then?

Pakistan didn't win that, England threw it away. Absolutely pathetic knuckle-headed display from the batsmen.
Eng got bowled ou, pure and simple.

About time you praised the opposition.

Time for me to hold my hand up and say that although I said I would be happy with any series win, my eventual prediction was 3-0 to England. Although I did change that once Vaughan got injured to 2-1, so I'm still on course for that.

Yes, well, the common English supporter isn't quite so reasonable.
Obviously all the regulars on here are exceptions as well.

You, on the other hand, are displaying all the hallmarks of someone who can't accept you were beaten and deservedly so in the Ashes.

Definitely. Plus a nice piece of revenge IIRC - didn't Uruguay beat you in the playoffs a few years ago?

I don't know what all you Kamal supporters are thinking. The guy's been given trial after trial in first class matches and has failed miserably time after time.
As shown by a Test average a tad under 40 - what a failure that is (!)
