Pollock was actually captain for longer than I recall; I somehow remembered his reign as a brief interregnum between the saintly Hansie & KP's chum, Fat Gray. I know he was spoken of as an unimaginative captain & the old Vera Duckworth horlicks was pretty comical, but I will say he brought dignity to the role, somehing I'd certainly never accuse Cronje or Smith of.

Any road, gotta go with Imran. A prince among cricketers.

Jardine, pretty comfortably. Certainly never had the interests of the game at heart, but he wasn't quite as bad as Cronje in that respect, and was a quality captain in every other respect.
