Battle of the Test captains

I think the winning percentages for Pollock should be:
Tests - 54%
ODI - 62%

Imran Khan for me.

Curious to see if SS votes Pollock here for his better winning percentage, considering a random person in Iceland would know who the better captain was.

Imran.

Imran Khan. It was sad to see Pollock replaced as captain though after the world cup blunder which put RSA out of the world cup. Would have been interesting to see him captain much more.

Obviously Im voting Imran but it isnt as close as people would make us believe.

Pollock has one of the most successful records as captain in the history of the game. Performed well as captain (over 40 with the bat and under 22 with the ball).
Imrans greatest success was in the World Cup, which given the title of the thread is not relevant.
Imran also had personal issues with players such as Miandad.

However, saying all that, it has to be Imran given his longevity at the helm, captaining more tests away than home, his playing performance whilst captain and his ability to help younger players.

Imran record would have been even better had he not started to pick an choose series later on in his career, and being the fierece competitor he was he only played the important ones and let Miandad captain the team against weaker nations like NZL and SL.Apart from winning a series in Aus Imraan did everything that could be achieved.

I concur with that Goughy, not as cut-and-dried in my head as I thought it might have been. Similarly it won't change my vote neither, Imran.

Just to avoid any misunderstanding, I'll state that my comment wasn't directed towards you, mate :)
