I'd be saying off what I saw this tour that Phillips is good enough for 6 depending who replaces Blundell. Proper technique and stands up regularly, give him more of a chance.

God he was a plank. I was thinking he'd be a good fit this year with the barmy army. Be a test as to who was most annoying...

So I went to bed just after lunch completely shattered with a poor scoreboard. Now wide awake and seems like NZ have fallen asleep.

One thing that should happen but won't is that Southee shouldn't get the new ball. He has basically wasted it on each occasion with his floaty garbage and been no threat. Give it O'Rourke.

Bonkers, he looks a player, yes he is expensive but we targeted him but he never gives up and bowls wicket taking deliveries. Also knows which end of the bat to hold. The 4 to get off the mark in Wellington will probably never be bettered by him in a test, glorious shot and all timing. As long...

Well the England fans are a mixture of laughing he is being selected as it makes it easier for us and sad a fine cricketer is a pale shadow of his former self and still being picked. It's a real shame seeing him like this but you can't beat father time.

    **Official** 2nd Test @Adelaide, 6th-10th December

Well done Australia. That spell that McSweeney and Labuschagne survived in the last session on day 1 was vital. Ball did allsorts and the batting was very disciplined and yes they rode their luck but they deserved a bit. Fun series this, shame I have nothing to watch in pub now though.

Superb ground. Loved both Basin and Hagley, so different to cricket grounds back home but so much better.

Good to see some fight and Blundell has played very well. Smith definitely has something about him. He is a very useful cricketer.

Almost as windy as me after a curry. Root ton please and a biff by Stokes will do.

    Mundane sightings of high-profile cricketers

Saw Harry Brook and Brydon Carse going into a restaurant last week in Christchurch on what was meant to be the 5th day.

Great to meet you. A cracking day all round and made even better by the dinosaur winning. Looks like an England series win in the offing before I head home too.
