The Blundell one was shocking. Worst of the lot. Both sides dropped chances though, we shelled a load too on day 1 but not as many.

No thanks. 8 drops in total, 5 for Brook including one by Blundell that was shameful for any keeper to drop.

Played against his dad. Our centre half had him in his pocket so Johnson kicked him and our centre half got booked as the ref was their assistant manager. He was on Man Utds books at the time and we were about 14.

    Richard Hadlee vs Ian Botham

I'd say I'd go for Botham as he was a better bat and a far better fielder, one of the greatest slip fielders we have seen. Not much in it though and probably got some national bias for this one. Hadlee was better for longer though.

In defence of some of the catching, I was at the ground and there were numerous times that I lost sight of the ball in the trees when the ball was in the air, obviously that won't have been the case for every catch as some were dropped out of the pavilion background but clearly some on both...

Fly to Wellington today and go home after that one. Its a great holiday. Best ever. We planned to go but with so much uncertainty over venues we changed to New Zealand instead.

Thought in first innings Southee and Woakes looked the worst of the pace bowlers on view bar Stokes who looks totally out of rhythm after hardly bowling. Was thinking I'd drop both but then Woakes was superb yesterday. Souther should play 1 and 3. If Smith doesn't get runs could be done by...

Well he impresses more each time I see him. An important find for England. Time will tell if this is just a run of good form or he is that good

Great day as an English fan. Bowling tactics were bizarre early on then Crawley looked all at sea. Bethel looks out of his depth on first view but hopefully that was nerves and we were in the soup at lunch. Brook was magnificent bar about half an hour either side of tea when he lost the plot...
