    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

I'm sorry but that is a very poor shot late on day one.

Will cheating England actually bowl a reasonable over rate this evening? Doubt it. Umpires need to have a go at them.

by all this I'm saying I have no idea as sports medicine is such a niche field. I just hope that there's a robust level of evidence being applied as there are obvious perverse incentives at play.

Man, does anyone know about what exactly the clinical significance of spinal stress fractures is when it comes to fast bowlers? Like, the amount of times I would even care about an undisplaced back fracture without neurological deficit and even bother with ordering even a plain x-ray in ED is...

O'Rourke's action and I guess consistency just feels like he might be more robust than Jamieson. That last test he was still bowling 145 + after 20 overs and it didn't feel like he was pushing it. I haven't seen that from Jamieson.

I definitely heard that nick, not sure why they didn't appeal.

The reason is he doesn't get behind the line of the ball. Nathan Smith just bowled a ball at 128 kph into his ribs and he had no idea how to play it. He is absolutely going to get found out.

Brook has not looked like he can handle it. Brook and Pope will both be eaten alive in Australia. Root can handle this type of bowling. No one else in the England line up can.

Gosh I love/hate being right all the time.

Look I understand that Brook is an aggressive batsman but he is just wildly swinging at O'Rourke, whereas against the other bowlers he is a bit more calculated. Neither him nor Pope have looked at all happy against O'Rourke. NZ are far, far dumber. How could you be watching either of these...

Brook on 98 now. Glenn Phillips 3 overs 25 gifted runs. Can't begin to comprehend the thinking.

Thought that looked out live. Don't think it was a desperate review.

Well sure, we could bowl 90 overs of Rachin and Phillips and Mitchell and then when they're on 600 we could bring on our good bowlers. Or we could actually bowl our good bowlers. Brook is on 91 now.

Imagine having a 145 kph 6'6 inswinging giant in your team and you're instead bowling a part time offspinner in the second session of a Basin Reserve test match.

Sorry Tom but this is very poor captaincy. How are you trying to get a wicket here? You have picked 4 fast bowlers all of whom should be fresh after lunch. Fine, Smith and Henry have taken a bit of a pasting after lunch but you still have 2 others on a wicket with decent bounce and carry.

Brook is just staying side on to all the deliveries other than garbage long hops or leg stump half volleys. I don't understand how they're not seeing this. Just bowl a good length on middle stump or tailing towards it i.e. O'Rourke stock ball.

No we have 3 good bowlers. I can't understand why O'Rourke is not bowling right now. Brook was clearly not enjoying it.

We have to be bowling O'Rourke to Brook here. Dude does not get behind the line of the ball at all. Just need someone keeping it at his body and on a good length and he will crumble.

No, it will always be acceptable to consider the entire English team as crap lucky flukers.

Harry Brook does not like facing Will O'rourke and wants to hit him out of the attack. It's clear that O'Rourke is not a nice bowler to have to face. Whether that translates to wickets (or, catches being taken) remains to be seen over his career. But he looks absolutely horrible to bat against...
