Which ridiculous Bazball win is the best?

We were 5 down at the point India were going to have to bat again in the 2nd innings. Pope scored 196 from 278 balls, it wasn't a stupid strike rate, it was just a damn good innings. Any team could've done that, but I don't believe any team could've won these two games in Pakistan, proper...

Apparently, Palmer was the one supposed to be nearest to Rice on the pitch, which makes no sense at all anyway. That's why you see him putting in a half hearted tackle for the first goal, but he shouldn't be there. From that selection, surely you'd have Bellingham as the link man, not Palmer...

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Only just seen that Pope drop from earlier today, another sitter. Did England drop 5 potential chances in this innings? Not to mention the two sitters at the end of the first innings too.

Which ridiculous Bazball win is the best?

Hyderabad wasn't really a win for pure Bazball though, it was more down to a freakish innings from Pope.

Definitely similar vibes to this game.... https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/england-tour-of-india-2016-17-1030195/india-vs-england-5th-test-1034817/full-scorecard

If WI were to beat England then it would mean that those 2 plus SA will likely all be on 3 wins and 1 defeat. It's starting to look like England will have the worse NRR. So this becomes effectively a QF. On form so far, you'd have England as big favourites, but if one of the WI big hitters gets...

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

What do Pakistan do from here? Will Abrar be back for the 2nd Test? There's rumours that he's suffering from a new flu strain called 35-0-174-0!!

Which ridiculous Bazball win is the best?

I'd probably go Rawalpindi. England scored 921 runs in 136 overs (6.78), days were reduced due to lack of light, they got the job done with about 40 mins to spare. That was a game that no team should've won. You can argue that this was similar, but we knew already that this Pakistan team had a...

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

I agree, Carse surprised me, but he did exactly what was needed, banged it in hard and put in some proper hard graft (and I also agree it's probably something you wouldn't guarantee getting out of Robinson). Whether that's the requirement for NZ pitches, not so sure. Mind you, Wagner made a...

It was a bizarre selection given how good the midfield had looked in the previous game with Gomez linking play with Rice. Presumably, if Kane had been fit he'd have played and the formation would have been far more predictable. Not sure why it needed to differ so much based on his fitness...

If Stokes can bowl by then, there's probably space for Leach and 3 other seamers. Woakes, Potts and Atkinson looks the obvious combo for those pitches.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

There was definitely a period where the Lord's pitch just got deader and deader as a match progressed and generally finished in a stale draw. That Sri Lanka game where Freddie bowled himself into retirement being the obvious example.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

I had a quick look and it's surprisingly not that bad. I think most realised it was a flat pitch and actually by the end of the day 328-4 wasn't a bad place for England. I even said this.... It's still a remarkable victory though.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

It should be a no brainer really. Better bowler, fielder and bat. The more immediate selection headache is what happens if Stokes is fit for the 2nd Test. I suspect he can't bowl the kind of overs Carse put in so he's really a batsman only. So therefore, the only spot he could conceivably take...

Well that formation got exactly what it deserved. Two fullbacks who can’t defend and only one central midfielder, the rest largely running aimlessly. The Greeks, no doubt inspired by the desperate Baldock news, totally deserved it.

England will probably need to win too unless they give Scotland an almighty thrashing. Their NRR not as good.

Surely it was 76-5. This innings falling in a hole, although it seems the slower you bowl it the harder it is to get away. Bang may have the bowlers to cause trouble on it.

Maybe not a bad wicket for Bangladesh, she was going nowhere and they need to accelerate now.

She was saved by the no ball (if it really was) because god knows what decision she'd have gone with otherwise. I'd have probably gone not out, maybe a mm behind the line?
