    *Official* 2024 Women's T20 World Cup thread

124 is the highest total in Sharjah so far, but this looked to have a little more pace in it than the previous games played here. Should be interesting though.......winner pretty much guaranteed a spot in the semis.

Solid enough start from SA but gradually getting a bit bogged down. Much seemingly depending on Wolvaardt. Look like heading for about that 120 mark again.

Best Players that You have Watched Play

I'd struggle to think of any of the top players in the last 30 years I haven't seen play. Quickest for me would be Shoaib Akhtar, but the bowler I loved watching the most was Dale Steyn, everything just seemed so perfectly balanced.

I don't think England give a monkeys about this now (well they haven't ever). Although, not all their fault. The amount of times the bowler seemed ready and the batsman not was ridiculous.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Pakistan obviously still in a very strong position, but they've certainly lost impetus in this innings at the moment. Should've been heading to about 400 in the day, now nowhere near it. Can see England either capitulating when they come out to bat, or giving Pakistan that tricky 3rd innings to...

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Pakistan racked up a double century opening partnership in the First Test last time if I remember correctly. But they were made to work much harder for their runs. Anderson and Robinson bowled top of off and didn't go searching for wickets. It seems like our seam attack here has given up on the...

Oh yeah, forgot about the Stone marriage....which makes squad selection even madder.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

You say short on choices, but I'm pretty certain the vast majority of us would've gone with Potts and Stone over Woakes and Carse. It's possible on this pitch it would've gone a similar way, but surely those 2 offer more wicket taking threat. Carse currently with most economical figures largely...

Atkinson has at least shown that the short ball tactic can offer up some opportunities (unlike when Carse tried it), both bats been slightly lucky.

    Official Rugby Thread

It's a shame the BBC only stuck this match on the iplayer, it deserved mainstream coverage. No doubt Twickenham will be a sell out for the World Cup Final next year though and I expect this team will grow significantly in awareness during that period.

I believe Pews has a phrase for this...... It might be to Potts' advantage to have been left out on this pitch, but I fail to see how he wouldn't be a better option than either Woakes or Carse.

Yeah, Bess was rubbish. It's probably not fair to examine Bashir too much today as this pitch is clearly offering very little and Pakistan have come out with a mindset to get after him. Having said that, Leach offering far more control.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

There is obviously that, but he's still got very little FC experience and there are guys in the County Championship who I believe would offer far more as all round players. Learning your job in the Test arena is not exactly a nailed on for success policy.

Fast bowler breaks down - that's not exactly anything new. His record of managing to get himself onto the field regularly is significantly better than many others in the England camp. Yeah, it's clearly more down to off field things.

    The Golf Thread

But the LIV players would only turn up when there's no LIV tournament on. There are also a lot of DPWT players with morals who wouldn't want to have LIV as an option to them either. Anyway, Hatton winning this for the 3rd time to no great surprise. It's not often I find myself supporting a...

** Official Cricketweb Horseracing thread **

Yeah, really average Arc this year. They definitely need to change the rule on geldings, even if it runs the risk of reducing stud values for those who might get beaten by them. But Calandagan and Goliath would've improved that field immensely. As it was, in a field of non-stayers and those not...

WI could do with SA beating England today to have any real chance of progressing to the semis.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Anyway, pretty woeful morning that for England even if the pitch is flat. Woakes and Carse looking like the questionable selections we knew they would be, whilst Bashir should surely have been removed from the attack.

You say 'how long do you give a guy'? Woakes is playing in this Test!! He took wickets at under 26 in Australia in a largely pathetic series for everyone, yet he gets singled out? Yes, he may have done some daft things, but his performances on the park were really not the issue. A lot of...
