    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

An impressive start by Konstas, but I'm guessing there would be stronger attacks out there in the Sheffield Shield. I like McAndrew, good honest cricketer, popular at Sussex, but not really a new ball bowler.

He should have a little drink after the match with Rizwan, they can console each other.

Who will score the next triple hundred in Test Cricket in the 2020's ?

255* He'll never get a better opportunity given England will almost certainly bat till Tea anyway.

The later they leave the declaration the more tired Pakistan will be and the greater the chance the pitch starts to break up. Batting till Tea could leave the Pakistani batsman as sitting ducks.

Who will score the next triple hundred in Test Cricket in the 2020's ?

England will probably try and bat 2 sessions tomorrow, if Brook stays in for those he’d have a chance given how aggressive it’s likely to get.

England’s 86 on Day 1 is going to look massive in comparison to today. I presume some leeway is given for the heat?

And you questioned my theory that Salman’s average may be somewhat exaggerated by feasting on these roads….

Brook did ok in the ODI’s and for his franchise. His place is also not in question, he’d make a more obvious backup skipper.

Fantastic session for England in more than one way. Need to keep it going and go verrrrry big!!

Dreadful is harsh. Thought they bowled well (especially Kerr). Dropped sitter off Perry proved costly. Batting was painful though, Bates setting a sorry tone. Still, beat Pak and SL and probably in the semis.

I think they probably have, but this innings hasn't half fallen on its arse!!

Looks like well under 160 now, although McGrath 8 and Sutherland 9 is just stupid batting strength.

Mind you, Perry was going nowhere at the time so wasn't the worst strategy.....but now it looks expensive. That's a tough decision for that catch though. I thought she had fingers under the ball. One of those that is probably out but the camera always seems to suggest otherwise.

There were just signs of some lower bounce late on. I suspect Day 3 will still be flat, but could see things starting to happen on Day 4. I wouldn't rule out a result and England are still a long way behind with a slightly weakened batting unit.

Bat all day tomorrow and it'll be close to parity. And no real reason why that shouldn't happen. Only wicket to fall was from a long hop and needed a spectacular catch. Do we know if Duckett will bat tomorrow? I've read that no scan is planned which sounds positive.

A Surrey debacle. If either Smith or Atkinson take their easy chances then Duckett doesn't get injured and Pope doesn't fall for a second ball duck.

That just sums it up. We finally take a catch and our opening batsman dislocates his thumb in the process.

Salman now appears to be playing for the not out....he's probably hoping they'll take a catch off Abrar sooner or later.

That was funny, the old fella trying to look like he knew what he was doing on his phone whilst it was charging.

Now Atkinson.....Can't help thinking this fielding is a sign of things to come in the batting. The heat appears to have got to them...
