If it's so obviously not going to be playable so far out from the match, couldn't it be moved to a drier location?I doubt the 2nd test can be played since Colombo is under 3 feet of water. 1st and 3rd test should be okay.Curious to see the new stadium in Pallekele.
Not possible. SLC are not smart enough to do that.If it's so obviously not going to be playable so far out from the match, couldn't it be moved to a drier location?
Dambulla is ringing a bell, doesn't it. But this cyclone has hit the whole country. Even Dambulla got 150mm of rain. Colombo was the worst hit, 420mm! That was the highest after 1992, where 500mm rained on one single day. These are once in decade rains, so no point in blaming the organisers, because no one can predict cyclones two years prior. But the good news is that PSS has a very good drainage system, and what ever rain water will drain quickly. If it's so obviously not going to be playable so far out from the match, couldn't it be moved to a drier location?

What about Hambantota? I see there is a scheduled ODI so they should really try moving it there.Dambulla is ringing a bell, doesn't it.
I really hope Russell plays. I think he is a superior bowler to Pascal and he can really bat as well, which could prove vital considering our lower orders previous performances against spinners. So, thanks to the warmup match being washed out, we're still not sure what our best team is....
Who keeps wicket? Baugh or Thomas? And who out of Pascal and Russell will play?
"Smarmy git"? OUCH that hurt!! ..we've also drawn a test with Aus and SA recently!!..but you planks still tried to clown WI!! .We drew one you smarmy git.
Not too bad. The occasional rain in the nights only so hopefully the weather will hold up for the matches as well. How is the weather looking today in Sri Lanka?
Thanks. Fingers crossed we see an uninterupted test match. Not too bad. The occasional rain in the nights only so hopefully the weather will hold up for the matches as well.
Benn's still suspended.Interesting debates for both sides starting XI's. I notice there's no room for Sulieman Benn in the sides picked on here, I would have thought with Dwayne Bravo able to offer the side some vital balance, it's a decent chance to go with Benn and Shillingford on a pitch that's likely to offer assistance to the spinners.
That may explain it then. Cricinfo threw a curverball in and named him in their starting XI.Benn's still suspended.
Cricinfo's "probable" sides have a knack of being extremely improbable. I remember for the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka, they predicted Australia to have Steve Smith at #8, Doherty at #9 and only two quicks. That may explain it then. Cricinfo threw a curverball in and named him in their starting XI.
New Zealand's team for the current Test against India was supposed to feature a batting allrounder at #10, batting behind Jeetan Patel but opening the bowling as part of a two-man pace attack. Even in the days where Franklin actually was a bowler, he would never bat behind Patel.Cricinfo's "probable" sides have a knack of being extremely improbable.
