Think it was Chaminda (the poster) who hyped him up to the hill when Sri Lanka toured the West Indies in 2008. Everyone on here was expecting a left arm quick, faster than Malinga and what they got was a bog standard Sri Lankan left armer. That is OK BTW. Thushara has recovered a lot and bowling quick. SL will have two strike bowlers bowling seam. But the real problem is Mendis and Herath, both had been pedestraian in their efforts have been selected over Senanayake and Bandara, who have performed much better.
@ picking him for the tour of Sri Lanka of all places.Wouldn't surprise me if Devon Smith played instead of Bravo. If only so he can fail and we can finally get rid.
Problem with Thushara is very fragile. When in full fitness he bowls in high 140s. But recurrent fitness problems makes him to settle for high 130s. Even in these two clips he's in high 130s. He's the last SL bowler you can compare with Vaas, because this guy is a seam bowler and loves to hit the pitch hard.Think it was Chaminda (the poster) who hyped him up to the hill when Sri Lanka toured the West Indies in 2008. Herath is minor, he struggled in county division two cricket. Bandara is an interesting one, liked what I saw of him first time in the VB series circa 2006 but he seems to be very up and down and I've seen too many batsman successfully take him to the cleaners. Have to go with Mendis, if only for the novelty factor.
