Hi Striped one,

Why did you chose Strudwick ? He and even Brearley really stand out in that list.

If you ever track down the forum he runs, it's a thoroughly entertaining read where he bans anyone who disagrees with him.
Sounds like a tall turbaned and bearded 'gent' last seen in Tora Bora

1. Ghulam Parker
2. Suru Nayak
3. Ronnie Irani
4. Ashok Gandotra
5. Rakesh Shukla
6. Reetinder Sodhi
7. Sameer Dighe
8. Sairaj Bahutule
9. Atul Wasan
10. Yograj Singh

Positively the worst cricketers that I have seen and who played for India with the exception of Ronnie Irani who amazes me for the number of matches he played for England.

May be Debang Gandhi deserves a place ahead of SS Das.
easily, das has a solid technique just not a very strong temperament. ive always wondered though, is it debang gandhi or devang gandhi, cause ive seen his name spelt both ways several times before?

When Gandhi plays in the Essex League he goes by Devang Gandhi, so I guess that's how he's known nowadays.

Dev Ghandi has a habit of scoring 100s against Chelmsford, unfortunately. :( I thought he was a reasonable talent, then sort of fell apart.

How can you pick Chris Harris for the side.

As an ODI player he has obviously been at least reasonably useful as an allrounder.

As a test player he was pretty much a specialist batsman. In limited opportunities he was somewhat disappointing but it hardly qualifies him as one of the worst ever. Especially since it's common knowledge that a) he can score runs at international level, as proved by his ODI career, and b) his selection was more than justified, because he is one of the outstanding players in NZ FC cricket in the last 20 years.

Chris Harris should not be on that list. I think he deserves a spot in the blackcaps.
Chris Harris has so often pulled something out of the hat, at the crease or on the field, to bring his team back from the dead that one has lost count. He is one of the abiding memories for me of a typical Kiwi comeback in an ODI.

He is priceless for someone so understated.

Javed Omar

you're really having a laugh arent you? javed omar is one of the better players in bangladesh, he has one of the best techniques in bangladesh and hes managed to score a century against pakistan as well as average nearly 40 in england.
and chris harris? thats just plain stupid.

Javed has had some good series, but he has also had some pretty awful trots, as his test average of 22.55 will show you.

There have obviously been worse players than him, but I dont think a player with such a poor record has been given such a long run and been considered undroppable.

oh hes obviously not undroppable nor is he any good, but the idea of putting javed omar down as being worse than nafis iqbal, tushar imran, rajin saleh and even mohammad ashraful is quite insane.

But thats where you are wrong. He is undroppable. He has maintained his average of about 20-25 for some time, and simply doesnt, and hasnt, got dropped. Nafis, Rajin, Tushar and Ashraful have all had runs out of the side, and all have similar records to Javed, but Javed just seems to be undroppable for some reason.

I think thats why he was included - possibly the worst batsman to really cement a spot in a test side excluding the current Zimbabwean situation.

id think javed omar was dropped at some point in time during his career too. nonetheless the only reason hes been picked consistently is because hes shown far more potential than the rest of them.

i havent seen enough of karthik to rate him.
MS Dhoni may make a decent ODI batsman(for a keeper), but i'd be particularly surprised if he succeeded against a quality pace attack in ODIs or outside the subcontinent. i'd be even more surprised if he ended up being anything more than worthless in test match cricket either. as far as his keeping his concerned, the less said the better.

Not many quality pace attacks in the world! Even if England play and Dhoni makes runs vs them in England, you may discount it to that the bowling did not contain one quality bowler. So Dhoni has not proven what i said.

But if he would fail you could say ha! I told you he will fail!!

Really its not fair to any player, let alone Dhoni. You can only face what you get although I too believe I have to see him outside the subconinent to form a better opinion of him as a player.

if dhoni scored runs in seamer friendly conditions against any top 7 attack or scored runs against Australia or even pollock, ntini, nel etc then i might change my opinion. but i really cant see him scoring any sort of score outside the subcontinent, be it england, new zealand, australia or SA.
