the indian selectors did wake up, but it was too late in the series as it was already lost. also, parthivs gay BF ganguly supported him which helped parthiv stay in the team for a long time. no wonder that gay ganguly has himself been dropped now as the indian selectors r fully awake now.

Mike Brearley was a great captain, an inspirational one. He could be picked despite being a poor bat. If you want to pick him, don't give him the captaincy, or your bunch of losers could actually win many matches
