Sad news.... now i wish i had goten the ticket for boxing day test match. Hopefully Melbourne test lasts 5 days and Aus is bowling the last day.... i want to go and see Warne bowl at MCG for the last time.
Go Eng.. please drag the match to 5days.

If this is true boxing day is going to be MASSIVE. Damn me and my lack of tickets. Cricket without Warne is...just...well...he's just irreplaceable. Not b/c without him Aus will struggle to win (although that may be somewhat true) but b/c world cricket will no longer have the greatest spin bowler ever, the man who changed the face of the game. No one is bigger than the game, but sometimes Warne is the game. Geez.

Legends.

In the last 32 Tests these two have played in together, Australia have not lost a single one, and won 26. In the same period, without these two, Australia have won 17 matches, lost six and drawn two. Of the last 56 Tests with these two, Australia have lost four; two of them in India, the other two dead rubbers.

In all 102 Tests they've played together, the record reads Australia 69 wins, Opposition 16 wins, 17 draws.

Gutted :(

Thanks for the Memories fella's, the names SK Warne & GD McGrath aren't names that'll be forgotten quickly.

Reports coming out of Australia (well, my Dad) say that McGrath's manager has denied the rumours and that no decision has yet been made either way.

Wouldn't it be funny if Warne said these reports were a load of BS tomorrow? After all the farewells, avatars and sig additions ... owned. :p

Haha yeah, I was saying that to someone earlier. I can see it being revealed that Warne called a press conference to announce that he and Simone are an item again, and it's been assumed that he's retiring.

I think there can be a special, honorary "Lifetime Achievement" Greigy award for all of us who've bought into it!

This is really getting out of hand with the avatars now.
Every time I read a post, I have to double-check to make sure if it's hb, thesean, dravid, matt79, kazoholic or another tool lacking in originality.

Might have to change my avatar, just because of this post.

All good things must come to an end. I can understand the timing too. They have every trophy going on the self. Nothing left to prove. They have enough money hundreds of times over. McGrath would like to spend more time with his family. But Warne? How will he keep chasing that poontang around the globe without touring? He is fit enough to keep playing for many years.

A sad day indeed.:sadwalk:

If Warne is to retire hopefully he can take 8 wickets in his next two matches to not only finish with over 700 test wickets but also 1000 international wickets.

Get over yourself!

Besides, HB did it first, and I was second, so I'm less of a tool than everyone except HB! :p
