The Battle of the Englishmen

Apologies for the delay, but I went out for a pint before the 24 hours was up & thought as it was a close one it deserved to run its course. Then, as is often the way of these things, I was in no fit state to log on upon my return! Anyhoo, in the event I could've called it last night, C_C has the final word (as is his wont) to make it 10-8 to the good doctor.

The final quarter pairs two more absolute legends: Laker and his 19/90 versus The Master. Incidentally, I always thought Hobbs had 197 centuries but cricinfo lists his total as 199. Have some matches posthumously been accorded FC status?

Battle of the Englishmen: Quarter-Final 4

vs

Jack Hobbs
834 FC matches, 61,760 runs @ 50.70 (199 centuries, 273 half-centuries), 108 wickets @ 25.03 (5 wicket innings: 3)
