Aren’t both of these teams facing relegation as well? I didn’t know that the rules were per a game in Domestics. Surely there has to be some leeway? What if sickness or injury runs through the team? Are they expecting a club cricketer/school cricketer/Makhaya Ntini to play for the Warriors???

I'm happy this has happened because it may just bring to the fore how terrible the rules are and how these rules are not good for the development of the game.

I just hope that it doesn't turn into the classic, play purely on merit argument while ignoring why this is also bad for the game if player of colour development is not happening and not being actively pursued.

You know that’s what it will boil down to over social media though. It always happens that way. No one cares about how these things are symptomatic of a greater issue at hand.

It's exactly what I tweeted earlier and are there any signs of improvement in numbers to actually be better & deserving of selection? Maybe, but only in some Provinces and then you take the Warriors who had Sipamla and Magala pilfered from them. Its just all artificial if you can't have the highest level of player playing and then expect the highest level cricket and promotion/relegation etc

I just want us to drive elite standards and that includes in grassroots and development cricket where all young kids are getting the opportunity to love the game first & foremost but when it gets to a stage of being a young man the hard truths are that you have to be better than your competition to get a chance and then play with and against the highest level players to bring your game on with whether you are Black African, Indian, Muslim, Coloured, Afrikaans or English.

I don't know if there are straight answers and I tweeted its about time hard questions were asked of CSA. But just how easy is it when there is hardly any money in the game in the first place. Obviously SA20 needs a few seasons to really make a positive financial impact down the chain consistently.

Warriors management need to be criticised, whether you agree with the rules or not it's your job to set up the team according to the requirements, Double , triple , quadruple check to ensure you have all bases covered on match day.

Now as per the rules, I don't mind quotas, but it needs to be realistic, 6 players of color minimum is far too high , 6 players of color wont be a problem when grassroot cricket is doing the heavy lifting of producing black talent , when the facilities in previously disadvantaged areas are up to scratch and we are producing batsmen that can score hundreds consistently at domestic level nevermind international level. The truth is it's the private schools still doing the heavy lifting , so government is using quotas as a quick fix solution to a problem that can be fixed only through good governance and investment. Looking at the system, 4 players of color minimum per XI without any subquota rule would be the right balance , cause right now their metrics are more about restriction than improvement.

They are but seems CSA will save them and WP by changing the structure.
I believe its per game and there is leniency provided you let CSA know. Presume warriors didn't and hence the harsh penalty.
