Gqamane having his time in the sun here. First List A fifty in 10 years and it’s in the final.

Simelane did well to hold his nerve. Dolphins just enough to take trophy.
This competition also saves their bacon regarding relegation. So they will be very happy.

CSA have created an even a bigger mess. Don't see how the warriors get to keep the amount of wins if they lost the points. In football if you field an ineligible player you get an automatic 3-0 loss.

If the Dolphins hadn't been awarded any points then it could have stayed at 4 wins with a points deduction, but because they were then it definitely counts as a forfeited match and the Warriors should go down to 3 wins.

But wouldn't they still be ahead of the Knights on NRR? Unless the Knights are arguing that also needs to be adjusted, in which case they do have a point if the Warriors are deemed to have lost the match.

Knights are arguing as the warriors lost the points it should count as a loss and warriors should lose the win and any nrr gained.
Their argument is logical for me.

Then if the Knights win the case they more or less secure from relegation & won't lose sponsorships. CSA has opened a can of worms.

I mean this all makes complete sense. Punish the areas of the country that have the highest likelihood of producing black players, who consistently have those players 'stolen' because the larger franchises have the monies. And then wonder why you are not producing enough players of colour.

I mean we can discuss to death the failure of CSA, and their many poor attributes. But the problem in cricket is largely a socio-economic problem. Much like what is happenening throughout SA.

What is the percentage of SA players that have come though the private high end school system? It's not a unique problem to SA, but it does have a disproportionate effect when combined with SA's history.

Didn't even know we had t10 competitions but apparently Boland held one. Now under corruption investigation...

Being deducted points as a punishment is a standard practice in sports leagues and the record of the results wouldn't be changed if it was only the offending team who were affected. What makes it a loss in this case is that the Dolphins were given the points for the match.

It's a good thing the Dolphins weren't tied with anyone. If the Warriors' NRR were to be removed then so should the Dolphins'. That could have been very problematic if their NRR had played a role in the final standings.

Agreed. Cricket is an expensive game full stop but also it takes time and patience. Lots of kids of all races would prefer rugby or football. This makes it especially tough to introduce to non-cricketing families.

I could be the tragic I am and list the schools first teams from the sporting schools and you would be surprised at looking how transformed they are. Particularly Joburg & surrounds & KZN. WP cricket still has a problem with Black African production. Coloured/Malay no issues. They've been going to the top Cape Town schools for some time. Pretoria and surrounds produces the highest number of white players in the country and you look at their teams & it is mainly white. The Afrikaans-speaking one's might get a coloured now & again whilst the English-speaking will have some Black-Africans. Both WP & Titans take the Hubs programme quite seriously though which is good.

Eastern Province and Free State are on a down-turn full-stop. I worry they could go the way of Border. Grahamstown or Makhanda now, King Williams Town, Queenstown, Graaf-Reneit rich in cricketing tradition produces nothing now. That is looking at the Eastern Cape. But then what about guys like Elgar, McMillan, Bradley Player, Herman Bakkes, Tshabalala from dorps in the Free State.

You a talented boy from Easterns you preferring going to Joburg or Pretoria.

NW & Boland steadily on the up. NW mainy white-afrikaans or Black African but kids are going to Pretoria or Joburg if they can. Boland mainly Coloured and then White-afrikaans.

Fun team. All types of bowling options which includes 8 bowling options.

Bats all the way down to 10 , 8 bowling options, great fielding side, power hitters , anchors , all rounders , pace bowlers

Basically the 90's blueprint which gives any captain flexibility. That's how we should set up the white ball side for the Proteas in my opinion

In an ideal world, hopefully we can find that balance again for our white-ball cricket.

Warriors have to be beating the Knights if they are going to survive. And their 3 best players aren't involved ie Nortje, Stubbs and Breetzke

Imagine this is their best XI (easy to pick with limitations to selection.)

J Hermann
J Du Plessis
M De Villiers
S Qeshile
A Mokgakane
S Muthusamy (c)
P Kruger
B Swanepoel
D Olivier / CJ King
J Raubenheimer
S Plaatjie / A Mothoa

Can't see Rosier, J Pillay, JP King, Simetu, Alder or Meyer playing.

And the ironic thing is that Breetzke, Stubbs and Nortje are the only EP-produced players in their squad.
