In an ideal world, hopefully we can find that balance again for our white-ball cricket.
It can be a tricky thing to get right. Often when choosing between an all-rounder and a specialist the question is whether what you lose in the all-rounder not being quite as good as the specialist is offset by the all round ability. In the 90s we were spoilt by having Kallis and Pollock, who were amongst the best we've ever had in their primary disciplines.

I agree. I like the idea of it if they are the best cricketers. Like for example I think Linde & Mulder have shown enough at the level below international that they could genuine batting contributors so if their bowling is serviceable as 5th/6th choice it's the best we have right now. But they certainly aren't Kallis & Pollock for churning out consistent high quality.

Even Nicky Boje who I think should have had a better bowling record if used more attackingly scored 2 ODI 100s batting at 3 & Andrew Hall got a test 100 opening. We had a plethora of these types of players that seem to have maybe dried up.

But we do seem to have gone more batting / bowling specialist and it's be ause they are the best options right now.

What a pedestrian WP seam bowling attack. Great chance to give Raeeq Daniels a debut playing with Pato but I knew they wouldn't do it. Whitehead should also be playing and learning considering who his competition is.

Warriors 9/2 and their gun batsman is out. Not looking good.

Robbie P wins SA20 & then gets relegated will be an odd season.

Good start from wp. Titans 40/2
If they can break this partnership early it will be a great morning session. They will need to use the newish ball because when it gets flat at Centurion I don't think we have a bowling option to trouble quality other than Pato's patience.

Verreynne said they had a great training week.

Been an excellent innings. Pitch hasn't played like the normal centurion. Quite a bit on uneven bounce already.

Warriors in big trouble in the bad blood match vs knights. 142/9

Warriors 171 all out

The Warriors only have 2 games which hurts them and this one is so crucial.

The problem now is the Warriors have so many players that shouldn't be playing in Div 2. For the white players, the 6 teams that remain in Div 1 is almost a closed shop and you expect Breetzke, Stubbs, Nortje, J Hermann & Swanepoel to have to find new homes.

The POC it will be easier for. Qeshile, Muthusamy & Kruger have to stay on Div 1. There should be a good amount of suitors.

What happened to the young fast bac left bowler youngster that was coming through from a southern suburbs school think he played one 4 dayer for wp a few years back.
