South Africa Domestic Season 2024/25

Dolphins with three on the trot! I just knew what kind of pitch we were getting due to the weather in Durban. At least we are back winning now.
Was thinking about this, who was the last great seamer to come out of KZN? After Pollock the best has been Abbott right?

Feels like it's something he is working hard on. We know how much he favours his batting. He was more of a batsman who spent time at the crease at school and didn't bowl loads, right?
Yep. Wanted to be Sanga. I don’t think he has the allround batting game to knock it about so his bowling coming on has been a blessing. Debuted opening for the Dolphins and then was down the order pretty quickly.

Maybe he sees that this is the type of player he needs to be to get into the Proteas LO teams. Good on him if that’s the case.

Ha! Jason Smith replied to a tweet of mine before this run saying they feel this was around the corner.

Certainly doesn't suit RdS
It was. On de Swardt, it puzzles me because they aren’t that strong of a batting team. He can play the anchor role at 5 or so.

Kenneth Viljoen

International Regular
Brevis kinda making it impossible not to pick him for the national team , what frustrates me is that he doesn't bowl every match..It's in our best interests that he does cause he's got some ability and a batter that can bowl just gives us that degree of unpredictability that we currently don't have as it's only Markram that bowls outside the 5 mandatory bowlers

Absolutely and unless Shamsi goes to sleep and wakes up as Tahir or Seleka/Peter make an unbelievable rise then having him as a wrist-spin option as something different to our front-line finger spinner is perfect.

Should mention Tiaan van Vuuren. As we haven't spoke about him much.

Rated him highly at U19 level and I've been waiting for him to show his all-round talents consistently. It's taken some time but he really has shown it this One-Day Cup.

Left-arm at a decent pace and I've seen him swing it. And gives the ball a real whack but can also build an innings if needed.
