And FYI, Lara averages 61 in matches won, while Tendulkar averages 64 in matches won. So they contribute in similarly in wins.

Yea, its ludicrous to compare 'matches won' considering what type of pace bowlers he had to work with.

We all know how important bowling is to winning (cough, Ashes, cough).

I am not dismissing Lara, and I will vote for him as soon as Sachin gets in because IMO there isn't all that much to separate them. But personally, he wins out because of consistency. Though I have a feeling that if I was born in West INdies, I might go Lara. But hopefully, if I was born in a neutral place, I'd still go Sachin...but who knows?

I am not dismissing Lara, and I will vote for him as soon as Sachin gets in because IMO there isn't all that much to separate them. But personally, he wins out because of consistency. Well, Ambrose and Walsh performed home and away, as opposed to the Indian spinners. In short, this can go on forever and ever. Both played in generally mediocre teams.
IMO, Lara and Tendulkar are pretty much equal; who you rate higher depends on whether you prefer consistency (SRT) or massive scores (BCL).
