Over-rated. Was clearly an excellent batsman but I'm not sure if he was a good as Bradman like many say. Obviously, hard to say without seeing him in action.

The fact that one of the best batsmen of the 80's hasn't even been mentioned in this thread may already answer this question but.....

Martin Crowe
LOL! As Brumby said, he was mentioned in the first post you goose ;)

Yeah, as I said, he was mentioned in the first post........

Let's try again.

Paul Reiffel

As you said?

Anyway I feel Reiffel is rated just about right. Maybe sometimes he's a little underappreciated and hence underrated for his contribution in test match cricket. An average 26.96 is quite impressive. I mean if you ask people who was/is a better bowler Reiffel or Lee, you'd probably get more peope saying Lee, despite Reiffel having a much better record and bowling in a less dominant Australian team.

Speaking of Brett Lee, let's do him.

Probably slightly underrated but not by much...

When he's on fire he's amazing....the batting last year was good too
but when not on fire...he's really quite average

Roger Twose...

You know, I paused when I said that thinking I'd get a reply like that, including that specific smilie. Interesting to see who would give the reply and how many posts it would take for that to happen. :p;)

Whatever it takes!!!
Ravi Shastri - Slightly over rated IMO. He was a gutsy cricketer but like with many others, people seem to rate him high simply because he was a gutsy guy, even though talentwise, he wasn't really all that good compared to some of the others around at that time.

Roger Twose - Under rated. He was more than a handy ODI bat in my opinion. Not seen enough of him in tests to comment.

Let's rate (and NOT do ;) ) Darryl Cullinan.

Xuhaib

International Coach
under rated

People remember him more as a Warne bunny. He was quite a class act especially against fast bowlers.

Steve Elworthy

Elworthy is rated just about right i think , from my knowledge of him can't really remember him setting the world on fire.

Adam Parore - a bit under-rated i think i always rated him highly as a keeper

Adam Parore - Rated about right - never set the world on fire - but was a good consistent performer over many years.

Dermot Reeve

Reeve - pretty good commentator

McDermott - under-rated in the sense that people tend to disregard that he played an important part in Australia's rise to world power since 1995.

aussie - overrated. Answers himself.

McDermott - underrated

Phil Edmonds
Looks like he was a tidy bowler who kept it tight and his record is kind of a poor man's Vettori so under-rated.

Sachin Tendulkar

Under-rated I suppose but I never really saw him play all that much so maybe I will reserve comment. Always loved his initals - TBA May

Darren Gough

Darren Gough

Hmmm...first time I saw him bowl was in the late 90's and was quite impressed. I think he may be underrated, but thats my personal view. Has a good (not exactly 'great') record in both forms.

Nathan Astle

deeps

International 12th Man
under rated - has been the cornerstone of new zealands batting for many years now

Steve Waugh
