Overrated/Underrated

I don't see how Kallis is over rated.. Hardly anyone likes him, and he's rarely mentioned as one of the best batsmen around even though he has among the best stats..

I think Kallis is very underrated. He has a batting average of over 55 and 200 wickets @ 30. Probably the most underrated player and best all rounder of our time, IMO.

Anyway, Neil Fairbrother

Underrated in ODI's. Could be one of England's best one day bats ever?

Maybe underrated, but never really given the opportunity to be decidedly either. Bit too laid back from all reports to fit in with a few guys.

Graeme Gooch.

Under-rated.

What a hero, my first cricket game watched live...Graham Gooch century in Colchester and first cricketing memory...a 333 job I reckon. Matured with age and used the heaviest bat ever at the time.

Sorry if this has been said recently but....

kallis has certainly proved himself a fair bit recently with the bat. hes performed in both Australia, India and Sl which are 3 of the hardest locations to score runs at. So i'd agree with the fact that hes underrated with the bat. With the ball though hes clearly nowhere near deserving of that 30 average.

he'd probably make Englands all time ODI lineup along with Knight, Stewart, Hick, Robin Smith and Flintoff IMO.

cant see how anyone can rate him as either considering he barely got a chance to play at the test match level. Certainly deserved more chances than he got though.

Mohd Yousuf- Rightly rated, people bracket him with players like Laxman, Vaughan, Martyn. I believe he is no less then these guys.
how in the world anyone can put yousuf 'minnow basher' youhana in the same category as Martyn or even Laxman i'll never know.

Ok. I agree he really fills his boots against weak opposition but that does not mean he only scores against minnows only.

Mohd Yousuf has scored hundreds against the likes of Mcgrath, Warne, Dizzy, Walsh and Ambrose and that to on pretty lively tracks.

yet his record against australia, SA and in England is so poor that it beggars belief. in contrast Martyn averages over 40 against every test standard nation in the world.

Haven't actually seen him bowl live, but I'd say he's better than his stats suggest. He was highly praised (or the like) in the SA vs NZ thread for getting a lot of turn and attacking the batsman, so I'd have to say underrated if people think he's just another Wiseman.

Yousuf is twice the batsman VVS Laxman is.And,Laxman is overrated because of his innings of 281 against Australia. For me,he comes in Chanderpaul,Flemming category

Was over-rated for a lot of his career but I would say he is under-rated ,especially given his form in ODIs.

Jack McNamara?
