Some of the moments of the game...

The expression on Fleming's face after he floored Sehwag.
The whole process of Fleming taking the catch off Jayasuriya.
The celebration after the dismissal of Sehwag. Showed some great cricketing spirit there - players from different teams celebrating as one.
Steve Waugh's fielding stint.

Vettori confirmed himself as being a world-class player last night...he helped with the bat, was outstanding in the field & bowled 10 very good overs.

Not sure why they sent Fleming in so low but at least he produced a run-a-ball 30.

I am guessing that the likes of Flintoff, Harmison and Kallis will come in for the World XI. It depends when they hold the match though, I'm sure they will have the sense not to make it clash with the VB Series, otherwise the World XI squad will be cut in half.
Probably fair enough mentioning those 3 players, but who would you drop?

As I suspected, ROW were Far far to strong for Asia. Perhaps Northern Vs Southern Hemisphere would be a fairer contest.

no, ROW v Asia is fine. Keep in mind that the Asian team had Tendulkar and Akhtar out with injury. Also, Attapattu had to withdraw at the last moment, and I'm not sure why Afridi wasn't picked.

Overall I thought it was one of the best games I've seen - we saw 60 overs of great batting followed by 30 overs of terrific bowling. Great stuff.

I really don't think those 2 players would have made the 140 odd run difference

Margin was 112 runs not 140 odd and Asia still had 10.1 overs left when they were all out, I'm sure they could have played it out tamely and lost by 60-70 runs if they'd really wanted. Personally I'd get rid of Gough, Hayden and Fleming.

I'd drop cairns, gough and hayden.
How can you even consider dropping cairns.....If not the best striker in the world then, certainly in the top 3. He was brilliant last night. Add to his batting his very crafty bowling, including a best slower ball in the game.

..ya, I feel the same...although Aktar could have done some damage

But, frankly,....344..even ROW XI would have struggled to chase this

Despite, ASIA XI didn't have many big hitters anyways. Still don't know what that GANGULY was doing in there

Well they got 344, didn't they so that a strange thing to say. I do take your point that it harder to chase a big total.

I still believe if Asia batted first, they would not have got near that total and I think the ROW would still have won comfortably.

There is an enormous gulf between these 2 sides..

Agree with Ganguly, he seem only a shadow of the player he was in the late 90s. He used to be one of the most destructive oneday batsman around.

Thats what I am trynig to say, I know they did score 344..IF Asia XI somehow managed to score that IF they batted 1st then ROW X! or any other team would have struggled

I actally think the squads were weakned due to keeping it even

Or else, Even Zimbabwe, England,Banglandish and South Afcifa Playing tests at that time, They didn't introduce thier best squad

Like Dwayne Bravo, meant to be the equvenet of Kapali, I suppose

But, Bravo is a very good young bolwer, but i suppose Clarke,Lee.Chanderpaul,Astle or Gillespie would've replaced him

Alok Kapali fielded very good, i must say.

Also, Zaheer Khan didn't face a ball, talk about crazy!

I very much doubt Asia would have got close to that score if they batted first. I reckon they would have got 300 at best and ROW would have chased down the total.

Thats just my opinion.

As I said earlier, ROW is far too good for this current Asian XI.

Good to see Cairns showing his absolute world class with 69 off 47 balls against the best bowlers from asia. I have no doubts that he would easily make the Aussie oneday side (if he were an Aussie).

I think the players dropped will be those who are busy playing elsewhere - like England and SA are at the moment.

hehe at full strength the ROW line up would have been even stronger, but it was good to have Gough out there, hes pretty popular out here and represents England in a world wide fundraiser.

Look at those who came above him. Gayle and Gilchrist opened... can't see much argument there... Ponting, then Lara... Cairns in to boost the rate... McGrath for a laugh... then Fleming.
