They still went didn't they. It's not as if it's more than what it costs out here.It would have been a lot more if the pound wasn't worth so much so be thankful for that at least.

Please further explain your allegation. Give details such as when.
1/ During Pakistan's tour of New Zealand, I commented on Inzi's captaincy that he tends to wait for things to happen then makes things happen, thus not that good of a captain, you disagreed with what I wrote and openly admitted to not watching the series.

2/ I do recall you commenting on Harmison without having watching him bowl.

So now you're saying that Banks should stay in?
No I'm saying Fidel Edwards should be dropped and Corey Collymore playing.

It all depends if they want to give Lawson a run instead of Banks.

Quote me. Fair game then.

It's a technical flaw because he doesn't put himself in a position to play a straight shot to a straight ball. You can work a straight ball to leg if your technique is correct. To play that ball to leg you front foo t should be poitning to mid on as you go back and across your satumps.Sarwan goes back and across but when he is about to work the ball to leg he is jumping back and trying to bring his bat into contact with the ball when his bat his too far away from his body.He doesn't out himself in the correct batting postion to play certain shots and therefore he has a technical flaw. Also to play that straight shot your front foot should be pointing in the direction of mid off.
Sarwan gets into position to play the ball straight comfortably if he so chooses. The fact that he doesn't is the problem. It's silly to expect to score runs in England of all places by shuffling across the stumps to work length balls to the legside. Typically you'll get one run at most and likely you'll get out doing it.

Poor shot selection is when you are side on and your front foot is pointing to mid off and you're trying to pull a ball that is way outside off stump.Nothing is wrong with that technique as you put yourself in a position to play the cut shot or a drive.
Exactly. Sarwan gets into position to play straight, which he should do. Instead he chooses to play across the line. Poor shot selection.

No, the same common courtesy of welcoming a touring team to the country in some capacity and at least having proper transportation from the airport! The same common courtesy of getting them to their warmup games on time. The WICB isn't perfect, but they provide better transportation services than the ECB evidently and touring teams have to fly from country to country.

Regarding the ticket prices, I could be counter by bringing up the fact that England organizers have practically eliminated half of the would-be support by disallowing flags or any noise-making instrument into the ground. Heck, supporters were made to purchase replica t-shirts at the ground if they wished to wear one.

But I admit to surprise that the WI team wanted formal greetings, more on the grounds that I usually want to get straight to the hotel as soon as I've cleared immigration than because of any great feeling either way.
Aside from reports that it was an extraordinary hassle for the team to get through all the processes that be in the airport in the first place, at the very least have a bus waiting!

To be fair, I don't think the roads are quites as congested though are they?
How does road congestion affect the time the transport arrives to pick up the team? Surely there's such things as planning and foresight in England.

Gus Logie for one.
My point is that Lara, a specialist batsman, should first sit down and think about the shot he played before he goes off telling a specialist bowler about the shot he played.

Yes but lara actually had a plan to his shot, it just didnt come off :) Best was just a mindless hoik manly due to Flintoff getting to him.

Its not that simple, he clearly drops his head to the side which in turn forces his feet to follow in that direction so he exposes his stumps and plays across the line as he loses his balance.

Second test@Edgebaston

Well the second test starts tommorow. The weather in the UK looks excellent right through the weekend, so no danger of rain( Now it'll chuck it down!)
England haven't beaten WI at Edgebaston for a while.

England Squad M Vaughan (capt)< M Trescothick, A Strauss, R Key, G Thorpe, A Flintoff, G Jones (wkt), A Giles, M Hoggard, S Jones, S Harmison, J Anderson.
WI Squad sees Corey Collimore come in for the injured Ravi Rampaul.
The pitch at Edgebaston will suit Ashley Giles, as that is his home ground. Lara scored a world record in English conditions if my memory serves me well.

I hope the WI fight harder in the field than at lords. I felt their heads went down too quickly. Still, a young side gains most through experience , and sometimes loosing is a way of learning .

Some facts about test matches at Edgbaston since 2000

Day One of test: ave 35.4 runs per wicket at a run rate of 3.79
Day Two of test: ave 71.83 runs per wicket at a run rate of 3.24
Day Three of test: ave 43.8 runs per wicket at a run rate of 3.51

So far in the 4 tests played this decade, the team batting first hasnt won...and apart from last years drawn game, the team batting second has always won by an innings

Ist innings: ave 35.1 runs per wicket
2nd innings: ave 48.1
3rd innings: ave 21.7
4th innings: 110.0 (only been one 4th innings)

Spinners have bowled 290.2 overs (50 maidens) for 854 runs and taken 25 wickets at an average of 34.16

So recent history would suggest if you win the toss, put the other team in to bat

It's just one Test.
That misses the point. The point is, that the obvious fault that was getting him out regularly during the home series and which he appeared to have worked on and largely corrected since, is still very much there. The England bowlers are aware of it and are good enough to exploit it and so it's unlikely that Sarwan will make many useful contributions during this series until he can begin to make the necessary adjustments.

This may well be influenced by the England team's attitude to such events, which is that absolutely the last thing they want after getting off a long flight is a lot of formal waffling by dignitaries instead of a quick dash to the hotel to have a shower and get some serious sleeping done.
I'm sure a quick dash to the hotel is pretty much what they want, which is why being left to make their way through customs individually and then wait over an hour for transport to arrive are headaches they could do without it.

I'd guess that England players touring the Caribbean are quite happy to sit in the VIP lounge, sipping a nice cold isotonic drink, while their hosts sort out the hassles of clearing customs and securing luggage, even if it means they then have to put up with a bit of "waffle" before they're whisked efficiently away to their hotel.
