It's all very clear now. The West Indies are trying to become the best team in the world by emulating the best team in the world. Unfortunately, England didn't pull through on their side of a the mentor-student relationship.

Still, it's given Powell a chance to show that he does know what a bat is. Clearly he's the best batsman among West Indian Powells.

Yes, as someone just said, I meant that Australia are still unbeatable at home. It was a shame that Australia lost the Ashes, but at least they didn't lose them to England. They lost them to misfortune.

The West Indies look like Bangladesh without any enthusiasm. They look totally lost, like they are somewhere they shouldn't be, and don't know what to do. Completely hopeless.

And has anyone noticed Lara's weakness against yorkers? This time he got out to one LBW, but I remember Waqar Younis knocking him over and getting him clean bowled with one before. Seems like he brings his bat up too high to properly play balls that come low at speed.

this is an important innings for Hussey future as a test player IMO especially with Langer probably for Adelaide & Jaques plundering runs. If he makes a big score here at least i think he may cement his place as the next opener, but if not Jaques will get it he may have to wait a while to play tests again...

Yes, obviously. If Hussey fails here, he might end up being a permanent fill in at best. It's also essential for Symonds to do well here, as he might be dropped in favor of a 5th bowler and never given another chance at tests.

i wouldn't say he'll become a fill in but he will have to wait to become a permanent opener whenever Langer/Hayden reire or begin to fail, because i see down the line Jaques/Hussey opening for Australia.

Symonds if he fails here may get one more chance at adelaide i would think and if their is no improvement he may well & remain as a ODI specialist but i really think Symo is better than that

Maybe, since Hussey's a few years younger than Langer and Hayden. I would think that David Hussey should be given a chance soon as well.
