they got a couple of Aus A games and a couple of games at the SCG, they should pick up form very soon and Murili will be coming back too :)

The Lankan team is collectively off-form and the return of Murali might be too late to save them in the VB series.

Interestinly Sl team have lately gained a reputation of a team that plays either fantastic cricket, or absolute crap!

i feel that so far sri lanka have not looked like competing batting 2nd until it is far to late, players like Kaluwitharana played quite well in the last game against australia, but just could not carry on.
Aussies are probably odds on favourites to take out the competition, or at least make the finals.
England and Sri Lanka are playing poorly, and i sometimes feel that their hearts arent in the game at all!:!(

International Debutant
Sri Lanka is a decent side when Jayasuriya stays out there, their batting depends too much on him, especially without Aravinda. They have good depth in Batting but need an experienced head out there or something to guide them along.

And yea, I agree. Aussie should at least make the finals.

Arnold has been performing well for SL but he is batting too far down the order to have any real impact in the game....

perhaps it is time for him to be promoted to add some punch to the middle order??????
:)

Arnold, Samaraweera and Jayawardene are the ones who have been contributing in the main.

This could be because, by the time they're in, the game is all but over as a contest so there's less inclination to get rid of them?

I don't think alterations to the order would change much.

Keep in mind that Atapattu was in pretty good form before Aus, so don't count him out yet.
Yeah, he was going great guns in SA, and I expected him to do well in Australia. Do the Lankans still have a theoretical chance of making the finals?

Yeah, beat us with the Bonus Point, twice.

That, or beat the Aussies twice, or get some rain against the Aussies and beat us twice.

So beat us with the Bonus Point twice, then.

i think SRL can still threaten for a place in the finals, after all we all know it does not take much for an english collapse :D

Neither does it take much for a Sri Lankan collapse on current form...

nah SRL have arnold down the order and hes in top form, now attapattu looks to have found some too
Doesn't mean they won't collapse. They seem to have a serious problem with deciding who to bat at 6, Charmara Silva looked good but Nawaz and all the others given a go are not of the required standard...
