I'd be a bit warey of Williams and Hogg, who really hasn't done anything amazing of late to even get picked...

Watson still doesn't really look like a OD Bowler either...
Yes true but its still fairly good not as good as before by along way but certainly has some respectibility about it.

It does look beatable though...especially if the batting has the same probs as in the 5th Test. Remember it wasn't just the bowlers, the batsmen just didn't deliver during the Test.

The batting wont. (I hope)

The Australian Batting line up is still world calss dont forget that we reguarly make big scores against much better attacks than England eg. Pakistan and South Africa.

It's really the same with any team if the batting fails they struggle so yes it would be the same with Australia.
But despite failing in there second innings of a the test match on a bad 5th day pitch can you fault Australias Batting performances on tour this year?

Any way ODI's are totaly diffrent to test matches and If Egland or Srilanka make 260 againt us were better than a 60 percent chance looking at our recent form.

If you look at all there sides Australia have the 3 best batsman in Ponting, Hayden, and Beven and I think Lhemann is in very good form and so is Gilchrist.

I dont think there is any evedence to suggest Australias batsman will strugle.

Well England will feel that once they are under pressure they will collapse, because that is what happened in the Test. Winning the Test helped boost England's moral, they will take a lot of confidence into this 2nd leg of the VB series (VB...that's Victorian Bitter right? In England it would have to be the Victorian Bitter Series rather than the VB Series)

In America they say "I'll have a Bud" so I suppose in Australia it's "Pass me another VB mate"

Ugh, God no. I'm not a drinker as such but VB is vile, but not as bad as my own state's West End draught..............

Plus Victoria Bitter isn't actually a bitter at all; it's a lager. :)

I ment we have the three best batsman out of those three teams.

Not in the world or though they are all top ranked players in the world anyway.

lol they may feel that way but its unlikly to eventuate. Since when has Australia not been abel to cope with pressure? And this an ODI so dont go on about the test match.

Your right It should give them more confidence in the second leg of the series and hopfully there performances improve but its not going to change things that drasticly.

Well for England you seem to be forgetting Vaughan, and Knight is close to Hayden in ODIs.

And you seem to be fotgeting this is NOT TEST cricket marc this is the VB series and Vaughan cant be considerd a One Day batsman of equal quality of those three untill he proves himself and farnkly he has not done anything in yet in One Day cricket to suggest he will.

Knight is good but hes not in the top 10 PWC ODI batsman and you cant seriesly agrue that he is as good as Hayden, Ponting or Beven he may be close but thats not importaint hes not as good.

You seem to be forgetting that Vaughan hasn't played ODI cricket since his brilliant series against India where he firmly established himself as a class act.

Knight is good but hes not in the top 10 PWC ODI batsman and you cant seriesly agrue that he is as good as Hayden, Ponting or Beven he may be close but thats not importaint hes not as good.
The Ratings are flawed. While Knight may not be quite as good as Hayden on current form , he is as good as he is in general IMO.

I am in full agreement that he is nowhere near the quality of ODI batsman as Bevan however (he can do everything :) )

Bevan is a class act, but been in a bit of a slump in ODI form lately, no doubt he'll get back up again but his average went from 58 to 52...superb but still...

KINGHT AS GOOD AS HAYDEN - what are you on, look at almost every stat and it will tell you that hayden is better, anywy, why isn't knight in the test team??? (esp if hes sooo good)

ohh and averages dont mean as much as the quality of the player, as i have saiid before if averages were everything batsmen like vaughan and trescothik would not make the english test side

Averages may not mean that much but if you consistantly average around 40 in ODIs for as long as he has then you can't be bad. Anyway Knight has played more ODIs than Hayden and I would rate him higher than Hayden in ODIs. He's not in the Test Team as he is a much better OD batsman than he is in Tests...you can have people who are good in one type of the game! Just look at Harris, good ODI averages and superb domestic FC averages but sod all in Tests! Anyway Hayden hasn't played as many games as Knight, so enough of your "just because he's doing well in the Test Team and he's Australian he's better than everyone else" talk please.
