Sri Lanka win the toss and elect to bat first...they're (obviously) hoping that they can put a big total on the board again..But this is a blow for them:

Two changes for the visitors, Jayasuriya out injured, replaced by Thangara, and Perera is also missing in action, Ganegama comes in for him

Lol at how Sangakkara got out...a bit unlucky though, sometimes the ball rolls perilously close to the stumps, hits the stumps but a bail doesn't fall off or miss the stumps completely...

the pitch will most likely assist Murali & frenz but with australia's superd depth in batting i'm surely backing them to win this one.

Watching katich bat is like getting teeth pulled. I really dont see how he can command a place in the team let alone open.

Just because he's not crash/bang/wallop, doesn't make him rubbish. His style of play, in fact, saved Australia's bacon on many occasions in their win in SL last time they were there. Can think of a few occasions (last Test series in NZ, for example) where he's batted well whilst all others have fallen. Tonight's knock has made a run-chase look a lot easier than would have been the case had he gone early.

One would *think* this one is still in the bag but if Australia lose one of these two and then Hogg, it could well be a lot closer. Luckily, Murali only has two overs to go......

Someone should remind Bandara that it's a bit difficult for the umpires to give LBW's if they can't see the batsman because a screaming bowler is in the way.

Incidentally, did anyone else think Marto hit that leg-side sweep Sangakkara went up for earlier on? I thought he gloved it right before it went into the gloves. I also think there's no way the umpire would have been able to see that, though.

Hussey: Wow, excellent work to get back in time! That was a slick bit of work by Sagakkara.

Great win by the Aussies. SL have lost 2 in a row ,one close one V SA and this one was made a lot closer by the Aussies . (nah, I am not saying it was deliberate;) )

As they head to Perth , I have to say that SL will struggle to win any more in this series . Definitely not against Aussies, as the rotation policy comes to an end :) and Gilly , Punter and even Jacques likely to return to the regulars.

SL will really have to try hard to pull one (and perhaps 2) against SA , as they too strengthen their side with return of players from Injury.
