his game doesn't suit the role at #8 no but i cant see anyone in the top 7 before him being replaced, so for now let him play since the postitive to that is that the so called weaker aspect of his game (bowling) will get more developing.
But why put him in a role that he's clearly not suited to?

That was an awesome series. Lucky the Aussies caught Bondaphobia. I don't think they've been cured yet.
Hasn't he been injured ever since though, thus not allowing them to cure it? ;)

Good thoughts from Mark Taylor, he is of the opinion that the rotation shows a lack of respect for SA and SL, and that they will see this as a motivation, lets hope he's right.. It is a bit disrespectful

well their are some major differences to 2001 than now. Firstly NZ with fleming had worked out australia's top order with Bond being the axis on which that plan rotated along with some good intelligent batting relay outwitted australia, then SA just fed off NZ's success you could say.
Not really... South Africa went 3-1 against NZ and 1-3 against Australia. South Africa were languishing on the bottom of the table for a while before their wins over us -- then we conspired to keep Australia out of the final through exploiting the bonus point system.

For Tomorrow's Australia Day Clash I would hope SL would drop Arnold and bring in Tharanga . They could use him as A supersub if required.

Tharanga
Jayasuriya
Sangakkara
Atapattu
Mahela
Dilshan
Mubarak/ Kapugedera
Vaas
Kulasekera
Murali
Perera

Super Sub - Arnold

I think tomorrow they are likely to need an extra batsman and IMO the Super sub should be an extra Batsman particularly when chasing under lights.( a likely scenario)
SL need to win tomorrow as they go to Perth for the next 2 games which will favour Australia and SA .

Yeah, and I agree with what Steve Waugh said - players should only be rested if there is an actual point to it. Not just for the sake of it. I mean, McGrath has played only 28 of the 135 days since the Ashes tour. So, what exactly was the point of resting him - against his will - the other day. The guy was at the ground anyway, so it wasn't as though he was getting away from cricket altogether. I just think they are resting guys for no reason at all.

As for Brad Hodge's comments that even the Prime Minister has time off over Xmas, so why shouldn't Ponting... well, the PM doesn't get a full two months off (as the Australians got last year between the NZ and Eng tours); nor does he get a full five months off this year (as the Australian team will get after the Bangladesh tour); or a full four months off next year (as the Australian team will get after the World Cup). These guys have plenty of breaks, there's just no need to rest them for the sake of it.

I'll put Bandara as the SS though.

There you go Hondo - stop the nonsense and get on with talking about yesterday's game . Otherwise you may not be able to post on this forum.

I love this forum too much (and too many friends on this forum) to waste anymore time with you and then find I can't post any more .

This didn't register before , when I said the same.

Have to agree with Blaze , it is damn boring and because I do not want to bore members of this forum I will stop this exchange right here and will not be involved in any further exchanges with Hondo.

That's alright Jason, I have realised that you can't chage the world even if someone is completly wrong and you just have yo leave the mis-guided people alone otherwise the world will be one hell of a frustrating place to live in.

However if you are keen to continue on with our dicussion you are more than welcome to send me a PM with your MSN and we should take it out side of the forums and leave these happy members alone. But I doubt you would do that as you seem to be more than happy to hide behind these forums and your friends. Ball is in your court.

Bandara needs to be in the actual starting XI. He's really put in some good performances for Sri Lanka
yeah, but who will he replace?
Arnold is the likely one but having bandara at that position gives a long tail.
the idal situation is have Bandara as SS and Atapattu to win da toss and bat first then bring in bandara in da second innings.

while he has looked good Sri Lanka dont want to play too many spinners if the pitch wont really turn. Murali and Jayasuria and than Dilshan will already be in the team
