yeah but to call your side a bunch of cheaters by saying thet match fixing is only way we could win more than one game! Come-on that not right in any book.
Of course you do realise that he was joking?

Sl might end up ruing the fact that they missed that bonus point against australia at the SCG. Really interesting 6 games left.

i dont think SL choked, SA just played great. The last 6 overs were all yorkers, Sl managed only 1 boundary.

Great game to watch. We got it by the skin of our teeth. The funniest part for me though was the Saffie fielders planting the grass again after a particular good piece of fielding! Happened a few times. Never saw the Lankies in need of doing that! Series is nearly evens now with all sides in with a chance to win. Would have been less exciting if we had fallen too far behind.

Please just stop it Hondo, you're doing yourself no favours in continuing it with Jason.

I'd rather not have to hit the ban button unless I really have too.
There you go Hondo - stop the nonsense and get on with talking about yesterday's game . Otherwise you may not be able to post on this forum.

I love this forum too much (and too many friends on this forum) to waste anymore time with you and then find I can't post any more .

I would have to disagree 100% here.

Just because Jason doesn't blindly support his side, does that mean that he hasn't got a clue what he's talking about.

He's what's called a realist and can see where his side has shortcomings.
This didn't register before , when I said the same.

Get msn guys, it is boring to read.
Have to agree with Blaze , it is damn boring and because I do not want to bore members of this forum I will stop this exchange right here and will not be involved in any further exchanges with Hondo.

they got into a position where they should have won the game though - they then blew it

In similar situation most of the top teams would have won easily . The advantage is usually with the batting side when you come down to under 40 runs with 5 wickets standing and all you need is a little more than a run a ball.

The lack of confidance in the SL batting line up, the lack of genuine pinch hitters /genuine sloggers in the SL line up is showing clearly.

All we have is Arnold who is struggling to work the ball for even singles when someone like Vaas coming ahead could have made a difference, without leaving things to the end.

Arnold, IMO needs to be dropped as he is a definite struggler and a weak link for SL ATM.

The 2 stupid run outs were a joke. Atapattu was absolutely dumb to attempt a single , but Boucher may have played a dirty trick there .
Bandara was really stupid off the very first ball he faced, and Murali thinks he is such a great cricketer that after all these bloody years, he can get by without trying to help his team in close situations like these by trying to get singles and moving the strike.

I wouldn't call it a choke. South Africa bowled extremely well. Let's not forget that half the runs vs. balls remaining equation is about how South Africa can win the game -- sure you'd back the batsmen with wickets in hand, but you don't often see teams bowl like that in the death. It was extremely disciplined. Sri Lanka will be disappointed, but, to be honest, there was little they could do about it.

It will be an interesting day when a team of South African cricketers walk off the field because of racial abuse, but I think thats going to happen, theres a report in news24 about it..

Anyway, great performance guys, my favourite batsman coming to the party in a big way, I was worried Boeta was a bit slow but it was enough! Hall was tremendous at the end, but the Sri Lankans didnt help themselves..

Based on what exactly?

How does his game suit that role?
his game doesn't suit the role at #8 no but i cant see anyone in the top 7 before him being replaced, so for now let him play since the postitive to that is that the so called weaker aspect of his game (bowling) will get more developing.

didn't watch the game, but glad to hear SA had one, a SRI win would not have gone down well. But i still feel australia haven't yet hit full gear in this tournament, because i strongly believe once australia come with their A-game in all departments they will be too much for either SA or SRI.

Maybe if they actually put their first team out, which in my ill informed eyes should probably look like this.. (dunno where Bevo went, but he's not the worst number 7 ever, maybe the best)

1. Hayden
2. Jacques
3. Ponting
4. Martyn
5. Symonds
6. Gilchrist
7. Bevan
8. Hogg
9. Lee
10. Gillespie
11. McGrath

Then maybe they'll start pulling some major punches?

dont think australia need to go back to Bevan & Hayden at all (although dizzy may be useful but Bracken has done well) in this tournament, all is needed is that they put out their full stenght side & play like australia can play & i back them to runaway with this tournament as usual.

What, just like they did last time South Africa were in town with New Zealand? :D
That was an awesome series. Lucky the Aussies caught Bondaphobia. I don't think they've been cured yet.

well their are some major differences to 2001 than now. Firstly NZ with fleming had worked out australia's top order with Bond being the axis on which that plan rotated along with some good intelligent batting relay outwitted australia, then SA just fed off NZ's success you could say.

This time none of that is occuring, australia just haven't played consistently enough with bat & ball since game 1.
