No team wants to bowl to Razzaq during the last 10 overs of an ODI match. He must be one of the best exponents of this part of the innnings.

i really cant wait for a genuine contest between the Windies and Pakistan, hopefully Gayle plays and make some runs and play as agressively as he did against Australia.

Okay why is Rana blamed for one single over. The Australians planned to go for that over with 5 wickets remaining. They could have chosen the next over when some other bowler was bowling. It was more of a team loss than due to a single bowler.

No I noticed Rana been thrown to the gallows by some earlier posts in the earlier page. Must not have quoted him.

Erm, Do ratings specifically indicate how devastating a batsmen can be?
I read you as saying the class of the player.

Besides, Flintoff hits more than Cairns and also scores more playing that way.

How were they lucky? Afridi did his job, and you can't forget the terrific knocks by Inzamam and Butt. They have talented players. Who do you think your are? Nostradamus? Pakistan could make the semis in the 2007 WC. It's quite possible.

Your Pakistan hating is getting tiresome. Try a new gimmick.
Well this prediction were not started by me, and if someone can start acting like Nostradamus then i certainly can give a piece of my mind to that.

And i certainly don't hate Pak or its team, if someone wants to take my criticism as some kind of hatred then its his problem and not mine. Its a fact that they happen to have a very weak unit right now, and even the 1-2 class player that they happen to have in their ranks seems to be making news only for the wrong reasons!!

IN the 2007 WCup, Pakistan won't have Inzamamulhaq, how will Pakistani batting going to perform without Inzi is anyone's guess. Also i don't think Razzak will be able to continue till the 2007 (going by his rapid decline in bowling), and lastly Akhtar is 30 yrs old right now, by 2007 he will be 32 years old!! I don't think he will be able to maintain his pace till then, and Akhtar without pace will be pretty much useless.

I think Rana Naveed is proving to be Pakistan's Ajit Agarkar. Just like Agarkar he's suppose to be an allrounder but doesn't do much with the bat.He sometimes
deliver exceptional deliveries but is overall a lowsy bowler. Why is he in the team, noone really knows the answer but he's fast proving to be highly unpopular among his countrymen.

Woolmer now thinking of recalling Kaneria

Pak team management considers

recalling Kaneria for VB Series

KARACHI: Pakistan team management in Australia is now considering the option of calling leg-spinner Danish Kaneria back for the remaining matches of the VB triangular one-day series against Australia and the West Indies.

Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer said on his website on Monday that since it had now been confirmed that all rounder Shoaib Malik had not been cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to bowl, the team management was considering the option of calling Kaneria back to have more bowling options.

"The bad news is that Malik has not been cleared yet by the ICC testing panel, so his usefulness as an all rounder has been taken away. I feel he is batting well enough to be considered as a

front-line batsman. Perhaps there is a case now for calling Danish back to provide us with an extra spin option. We will discuss this and make a quick decision shortly," Woolmer said.

However chief selector Wasim Bari, when contacted, said that so far no request had been received from the team management in Australia for any player to be sent there but if any such request came, the selectors would consider it.

"As far as Kaneria is concerned from the start we have said he should have been kept in the one-day squad to give more variety and options in the bowling attack. But the final decision was left up to the tour selection committee as they are the ones who know what is required," Bari stated.

I told you this guy woolmer is wierd 8-)

LOL! So much stupidity. Everyone on this board knew he'd be called back, and also knew it was a ridiculous reason to send him back. Yet these professionals don't know that? Crazy.

I was walking to the bus to go home from work this afternoon and I saw some Greenpeace guys hecking Rana, Malik and another player (whom I could not recognise) as they got into a taxi. It was obvious these GP guys knew nothing about cricket, because they were saying to the players "bowl Ponting a bouncer for me." For starters, Pakistan aren't playing Austalia at the 'Gabba, 2ndly it would be stupid to bowl Ponting a bouncer.

Although lately he does seem to be pretty uncomfortable with the short stuff. That would be my strategy bowling to him.

He was also the reason Pakistan came from so far behind to defeat Australia 'A' just last week with some quality bowling. I wouldn't discount him just yet.
Exactly. He is a good bowler. You can't blame him for the onslaught. It's almost always gonna happen at that stage of the match. I think he was just purely outplayed by the batsmen.
