The one Bravo muffed was never going to be caught. Clarke would have been as unlucky as Gilchrist to get caught by it. And the one Rana dropped was extremely tough; he should have taken it considering the position he managed to get himself into, but it was still a tough chance. I wouldn't say Clarke has been looking like gifting his wicket.

G'day all, newby here! :D

Thought I'd weigh into the Aussie lineup debate.

1. Gilchrist
2. Hayden
3. Ponting
4. Martyn
5. Clarke
6. Lehmann
7. Symonds
8. Hogg
9. Lee
10. Gillespie
11. McGrath

Current line up. For the future, obviously Lehmann will be first to go, replace him with Watson (no good bringing Katich in, he is a top order Test batsman, not a 1-day player). Symonds is on shaky ground, he will go next, replaced by Cam White. Down the track Hayden will go, sub in Brad Haddin purely for his batting.

In reality Katich will get the call up, but IMO he is not fit for 1-day cricket.

Brett Lee was clearly the key. He's a good ODI bowler, but I don't think anyone honestly expected him to so superb on the day.
I expected it :)

Two failures if he is caught. In both innings he hasn't looked good until he's been dropped.
Every batsman has a bit of luck from time to time. At least he wasn't giving chances to the keeper or the slips.

What amazed me was his confidence, I haven't seen such a confident rookie in a long time.

Geez Afridi has talent!

That four he hit off McGrath down the ground was off an absoulutely perfect yorker, never seen that done before..
I think that sort of thing shows how key it is to have wickets in hand for the late overs, and no matter how good the bowler is, he CAN be hit for boundaries in that circumstance.

I've just been watching the highlights on Sky. Afridi's little knock was very good value; he must be an enormously strong guy. He certainly isn't built like Cairns or Freddie. McGrath just loathes being carted too!

You don't see Symonds shell too many either, difficult chance tho it was.

No team wants to bowl to Razzaq during the last 10 overs of an ODI match. He must be one of the best exponents of this part of the innnings.
