That four he hit off McGrath down the ground was off an absoulutely perfect yorker, never seen that done before..

Even i will hit a four if i'm given 100's of opportunities.

I wouldnt say they will be absolute certainties to win world cup 2007. The one day game is so unpredictable, its not wise to say that.

But I see their potential and if they carry on in the same lines, they may well compete in 2007 world cup reaching the semis/finals and with a little bit of luck, who knows, maybe win too.

They would struggle to even get to the semis in 2007!

When a team fails to defend a score of 270 + then it shows how weak it's bowling is. Its important to note that Pakistan were lucky to have put up a respectable score in this match (thanks to a big knock by Afridi), i suspect in other matches they will be bowled out to a score of below 200. And who well their bowlers will fare then is anyone's guess.

The Pak team's batting is still weak and unfortunately their bowling is getting weaker with time. Rana Naveed for one completely suxs.

No point denying that, but if you think that any pakistani bowler bowled well then i guess we were watching different games.


When a team goes in with just 1 wkt taking bowler then they are asking for trouble.

Just compare the bowling attack they had in 90's with the one they have right now.

How were they lucky? Afridi did his job, and you can't forget the terrific knocks by Inzamam and Butt. They have talented players. Who do you think your are? Nostradamus? Pakistan could make the semis in the 2007 WC. It's quite possible.

Your Pakistan hating is getting tiresome. Try a new gimmick.

Yeah, agree. I really don't put Flintoff quite in the Chris Cairns Class, but each to their own. Personally I think Flintoff is one of the most overated Players in recent times. But again thats just my opinion.

He's in the side because he's a better bowler than Mohammad Sami, and Gul is injured? I don't know where your vitriol towards him comes from, but it's worth remembering the other bowlers who had bad individual overs in that match - Shoaib Akhtar, Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath.

I doubt anybody is calling for them to be dropped over it, so just calm down.

Well Sami, Ahmed and Gul are injured so not much can be done about it BUT dropping Kaneria from the squad (after his encouraging performance) was criminal. Thats why i think the coach and captain of this side are idiots.They send back their best bowler yet retain someone like Naveed. They have two good openers in Umer and Hameed yet needlessly experiment with Akmal as an opener in a tough match.

Or maybe opening with Akmal was part of a plan, placing Akmal under extreme pressure so he start failing thereby making way for the recall of Coach/Captain's fav Moin Khan.

u got a point. Hasan messed up the chance pakistan had in that match. pakistan could have won that match if Hasan didn't bowl that over.

He was also the reason Pakistan came from so far behind to defeat Australia 'A' just last week with some quality bowling. I wouldn't discount him just yet.

Blaming Hasan is silly. Akhtar is one of my favourite bowlers, but he hardly performed well at all. In fact, he had a shocker. I don't rate Hasan too highly, but it wasn't his fault Pakistan lost. I don't think the captaincy by Inzy was incredibly bright. Lehmann's wicket at the end was the key. Bringing back Akhtar was a good move, and even though Clarke smashed him all over the park, once Clarke was out I would have brought back Akhtar again. Keeping the scoring rate down wasn't going to win them the match with 5 wickets left.

I still stand by my opinion that if Lehmann had been run out to Malik's throw, the game would have been much closer near the end.

I read in an article that someone dropped clarke when he was on 7.who was it? That was a real blow for pakistan. u absolutely cannot give the aussies second chances. if u do, u'll pay.
