Australia are more succeptible to defeat in ODI's than Tests. This is because in Tests, it's a test of the better team over a 5-day period (3 days in Guyana) whereas in an ODI it's the better team on the day (rained out completely in Guyana).

Yeah, but mind you that was Australia's first match in the TVS Cup so they're probably allowed to be a little rusty at first.

Had NZ been able to get out Bevan early both times & had a few of their batsmen stay in, NZ might have been able to win at least 1 of those games..but it's all in the history books now so NZ just need to go out & do their best against India.

Well everything is certainly history, .....ifs and buts, that doesn't matter now......u can say anything like this...the truth is Australia are dominating....it will certainly be interesting to see the other team for the final.

yes, rik the indian attack is weak but no weaker
than the English attack which allowed Ait Agarkar to score a
test hundred against them !
We've gone over this so many times, and if you want to go over it again I'm sure Marc will back me up here.

Also I was talking about the Indian ODI bowling attack, you were talking about the England Test attack. You know, the same players don't allways play in both forms...

While Gilchrist and Ponting will get the plaudits, I think thet special mention should go to the bowling of Kasprowicz. He conceded only 37 off his 10 overs on that pitch which is brilliant. Maybe Bichel should be looking over his shoulder.
I agree! It will be very tough on Kasprowicz if he is dropped for the final, he has been the best bowler in the two matches he has played. Bichel hasn't been all that impressive on the tour, he may get dropped. But throughout Kaspa's career he has been dropped many times after superb performances mainly due to a 'Queensland hater' in one of our former Australian captains.

I will - the only good thing to come from that knock was the AAAS.

Likely Aussie team for final (IMO)

1.+A.C.Gilchrist
2.M.L.Hayden
3.*R.T.Ponting
4.D.R.Martyn
5.A.Symonds
6.M.G.Bevan
7.M.J.Clarke
8.I.J.Harvey
9.A.J.Bichel
10.B.A.Williams
11.N.W.Bracken

To be completely fair Kaspa has bowled better than Bichel when he's got the oppurtunity so far on tour , however I just think Bichel's superior batting & feilding will see him through.

I also reckon they'll prefer Clarke & Symonds as spinners rather than bringing Hogg in , they'll likely prefer Harvey's medium pacers but really the Harvey/Hogg position depends on conditions.

Danny Morrison singing the praises for AA. For good reason too, he bowled superbly first up.

Harris looks less than a shadow of what he used to be... sad really. :(

Well played Dravid. Some superb strokeplay.

Horrible bowling by Oram and Tuffey in particular. Someone needs to teach Oram how to bowl an offstump yorker.

I was able to get the Rs 150 ticket at Rs 1700 in black market and man it was worth the money :D . The music , boundaries , atmosphere, etc,. everything was fantastic. Worth the money spent. A big India win too :cool2:

Well....it's the final everyone(except NZ of course) wanted.....India vs Australia......I just hope it won't be as one sided as the WC final....India, the most mercurial team in the game along with Pakistan vs Australia, the most consistently brilliant team of the last decade or more....if both teams are on song...it will be a final to remember.....:wow:

Great match report, Eddie!

A player is near the end of his career and isn't in very good form at all...so what do you do? If your NZ you put him up to 3 and he goes out for 1...

I don't see a problem with that actually. It would have given him a long time to bat with less pressure (ie he didn't have to come in and start slogging immediately).

The ploy failed, but AA bowled a very good ball.
