For me Laxman stands too far deep for a 1st slip fielder.

I think it is time DD gave a mention to Laxman's opoor slip fielding and Dravid's useless 'keeping. He has butchered two Symonds stumpings when he was out.

Clarke hasn't dissappointed you , ged :( . Australia is in a very good position on that kind of pitch. It resembles the WC 96 semis pitch but thankfully Aus don't have the same kind of spinners that SRL had :)

Holy mother of God this guy can bat! Clarke has once again lived up to expectations!
Bejaysus!
It's ok now that my post was copied for 'posterity', the more the better I say boys!

Well they can always turn to everyone's (my) favourite giant-killing part-timer to take 4/22. :D

Yes. Really thought Ajit could save them, but nope...Harvey 4 wickets with 8 balls! When did that last happen in an ODI?

Well...they batted better, bowled way better and fielded unbelievably better....so it will be the understatement of the year to say that the better team won. India dropped around 5 chances, missed two stumpings and was alternately sharp and sloppy in ground fielding. You don't do that against a team like Australia and then hope to come out with flying colours.....Murali Karthik once again made a mockery of the team selection process....this is pure victimization.....someone really has a grudge against the guy.....:(

Isn't it ironic that the selectors pick Kumble over Murali for the Australian tour meanwhile the team think-tank does the opposite for the most important match of the tournament at home?

Kudos to Australia for a well played tournament. They deserved to win it although I can't help but fault India for shooting themselves in their own foot with shoddy fielding (4 dropped catches and 2 missed stumpings won't get you anywhere against the best side in the world, even if they are playing without their top 4 bowlers.)

I think it's time you left Eddie to write the DD column in peace, he managed perfectly well before you came along.

To tell the truth, I never really considered either worthy of mention before - but 4 drops in a game is a feat of Chris Gaylesque proportions. I'm working on something at the moment which just might see you satisfied (oo-er, missus).

lol, great effor by Clarke, the only Aussie to score at better than a run a ball, than picking up Dravid and Badani with the ball :D:D:D

there was something for everyone too with AA picking up Gilchrist early and than hitting 2 6's

Bevan's innings made me sick. In the end we won so it's all good, and I know he was injured, but I know he's better than a strike rate that hovered around 50 for most of the innings. Clarke should have been sent in before Bevan anyway. If Bevan is the finisher he should come in after Clarke and then do the 'finishing'. If he were to get out early then who would do Bevan's job?
Besides, sending Clarke in earlier gives him a chance to play some shots and get Australia closer to that 280 they wanted.

What I make one suggestion.

Go and mind your own business.
