as I said b4 the series IMO it came down to India wanting to be in the final far more than NZ.......once again the Indian batting showed what can be achieved on a beatiful batting strip - and wasn't it a beauty!!!!
last night should have been a sad swan song for several of the NZ players, saddest of all perhaps for Harris who has been a great servant for NZ cricket in the past.
Unfortunately with the withdrawl of most of the batsmen with any semblance of form from the Pakistan tour, it now appears that the facade will be played out for a while longer yet......
a sad demise to become a route - what a travesty & end to a once glorious career. But make no mistake - end is what it should be as there has been nothing by way of contribution with bat or ball since the WI tour......and that last contribution was in a Test match - not ODI!!!!
As a footnote I should say that he should not be alone with the end of his playing days......Nevin at least should keep him company!
