You guys have John Wright in already !!!

Plus why couldnt he have replaced Murali instead of Kumble ? Kumble has a superior record against Australia than Murali. Fact .

The only other wicketkeeper apart from sangakarra who could have kept wickets to murali is taibu i think he is a fine keeper in matthew haydens onslaught he let through just 1 bye and it was incorrectly called anyway, in 700 and whatever runs 1 bye. True Sangakarra should have been picked i know kumar he is married to my teammates cousin i live in sydney he came to one of my games a great guy and i am so disapointed for him because i like him a lot hes a good fellow. Only a few months ago that joke of a fellow who likes listening to 2pac shakur before a game thami tsolekile was keeping wicket for the proteas. i love 2pac shakur but unfortunatly not tami tsolekiles keeping ability, and even he was ahead of boucher in the pecking order politics or not. Boucher is sub par with teh bat and sub par in keeping standard to taibu none our as well grromed to do the job as sangakarra however. Obviously because of his experience keeping to Murali.
Chris Gayle should have been in the one day squad ahead of shewag how much is he a michael slater in onedayers avereging 25 in the last 12 months just over 30 in his career ridiculous selection. His test selection is completely warrented. I would have had Abdur Razzaq instead of harmison in the onedayers, wonderful allround cricketer who has hit mcgrath for five fours in an over let me remind you. And you have to have inzi in there for gibbs as teh captain for sure. in thesets aswell dravid can open with shewag in a one off test why not he has a wonderful technique best in teh game row dun need greame smith, kallis at 3 tendulkar at 4 (he is teh little master after all) lara at 5 inzi at 6 as skipper u need consistency teh same skipper for both sides anyway. this is what it should look like im going to 2 one dayers in victoria and the test i know u want my tickets but u cant have them ahahahah. just kiddin.anyway my teams
TEST
1.Shewag
2.Dravid
3.Kallis
4.Tendulkar
5.Lara
6.Inzi(C)
7.Sangakarra(WK)
8.Flintoff
9.Vetorri
10.Akthar
11.Murali
12.Harmsion

Oneday
1.Tendulkar
2.Gayle
3.Kallis
4.Lara
5.Flintoff
6.Sangakarra
7.Afridi
8.Razzaq
9.Akthar
10.Ntini
11.Murali
12.Pietersen(supersub)

Let me just saykp has played 21 matches had 15 innings and is still averaging 88 nearly thats unbelievable its not like mike hussy who had a similar avearge after 4 matches but u best bet hussey wont be averaging that much agter 15 innings whats even more flattering for kp is that his runs have come against lee mcgrath pollock ntini. deserves his place no question about it. hes in form and against the aussies why should he play.
Geraint Jones only let 4 byes through when Lara scored 400, and that was off the last ball of the innings. A feature of massive scores is that not many balls actually go through to the keeper.

Obviously Afridi should be the supersub rather than Pietersen. Especially if he's going to bat no6/7.

1. Its debatable whether Gayle should of been in over Viro but i agree with Sehwag's decision personally in the ODI sqaud as well

2. That test side u picked their looks strong but i disagree because its on batsman too many plus having Dravid opening is a bit weird.......

Gayle clearly has a better record with bat and ball than Sehwag in ODIs. No question about Sehwag being a better Test batsman though.

Hussey has played 10 innings, actually. Though he needs to average 63.4 in the next five to keep his average above Pietersen's.

In ODI Cricket that is very very debateable.

Actually, looking at the stats, it's not even debateable.

Amazingly both have played 121 ODI's, batted 118 times and been not out 6 times.

That's where the similarity ends.

Gayle has 4362 runs against 3581, he has 34 50+ scores against 24 and 11 tons against 7.

Admittedly neither are that good against Australia, but he still has 303 @ 30.30 compared with 270 @ 24.54.

It's a no brainer decision, but the selectors appear to have no brain.

My two major gripes are mainly Kumble and Sangakkara not making the team. Now the Sangakkara decision was always on the cards with him not being selected for the test squad in the first place, but Kumble? That came out of left-field, and I'm a huge Vettori fan. But IMO Kumble's past 2-3 years, overall and against Australia warrant an automatic selection without question. Vettori's batting would be handy, but when you have the likes of Sehwag, Dravid, Lara, Flintoff etc. etc.in your batting line up, the batting ability of the strike bowlers shouldn't be a big issue at all, certainly not a deciding factor between Kumble and Vettori.

Another thought of mine was having Vaughan open the batting, and take on captaincy. I'm sure there will be a real argument for this if he goes on to lead England to an Ashes series win. I am a big fan of Smith's, and often defend him on this board but Vaughan's record against Australia (especially in Australia) and his great captaincy had me hoping he'd be in there, but I'm not that fussed. Like I said, big fan of Smith and it'll be interesting to see how he bats alongside Sehwag.

Inzy, Vaas, Gayle and Dravid not making the ODI team is a quite disappointing as well. I would definitely of had them in my final 14, with Gayle and Inzy definites.

The bottom line is that Vettori is in the team because of his terrific bowling / batting against Australia in the previous 12 months and so was high on the list to be in the team, and deservedly so.

The bottomline is that Kumble has done better than Vettori in the past 12 months against Australia both home and away and therefore, he deserves to be there ahead of Vettori in the books of anyone who actually knows how to select a side.

I am just wondering if the super series doesn't interest you then why would you want to waste time talking about it?
