Don't underestimate this batting line-up, Dimuth is well known for his ability to bat long when set, Chandimal has 11 hundreds to his name, and Kusal Mendis might decide to show up as well, even Kusal Perera or Dickwella could do some damage on a flat pitch down the order, the tail is much stronger than at the Gabba too. If they can maintain this good start the follow-on target shouldn't be an issue.

Feel as though it's a big moment for DdS though, he looked like a walking wicket at the Gabba

It's probably more of a case of wanting to bat a second innings if they know the pitch is flat. As two 100+ over innings back to back could cause nasty things for bowlers.

Also hot day tomorrow and they probably don't want to be in the field for all of it, there might be some showers around later too so perhaps they're looking to wrap the game up quicker
