its going to be interesting how this one goes...WI arent out of it right now.Bravo and Sarwan have to be there at the end..if that were the case, they would be 120 ahead...if SA have to chase 180 in say 60 overs it could be tough going

Well if we cant drop Rudolph for his batting, maybe we can for dropping the test match.. Not a happy bunny, as most usual..

Bravo, nothing more than a bit part operator with the bat is proving hard to dislodge.. Frustrating times.

He's certainly a lot more talented than that Rich. The man has 5 FC hundreds with a high of 197. 8-)

Pitched outside legstump. Common mistake, but still very frustrating.
I thought Hind's LBW was a shocker.. Our luck probably evened out by Mr Rudolph (but that wasnt the umpires doing anyway)

Very impressive from Sarwan. He really took my scolding to heart and is finally stepping up in this match and playing for his place. Bravo was also quite good, though dropped. Not at all a pitch you'd want to be batting on right now.

I think it's been made abundantly clear why I didn't think Pagon was quite ready for Test matches. I'll refer to my assessment of his technique at the start of the first Test:

"Strong back foot technique and a big preference to exercise it early in his innings. A potential weakness would be full length deliveries early in the innings I believe."

Note that this is not in any way me bragging, but rather lamenting that I have been proving right. Still, he's a very talented batsman but perhaps a season or two undercooked.

Think sa will win?
How many tests in this series btw?
I think on this pitch a score of 150-200 will be no cakewalk. Very interestingly poised.

4 Tests. 2 more after this one.

I too wasn't all for Pagon playing. Maybe Marlon Samuels. Anyway the selcetors should have opted for tjhe extra bowler. Who knows we could have maybe gotten SA out for less.

We didn't bowl badly though. An extra bowler would ensure a longer tail. That would be a problem on this track.

this match is very evenly poised going into the last here lads, WI have the slight advantage because they have the runs on the board, but i reckon WI might giev SA 175 to win it will be a battle the get to those runs but SA will win

I missed most of today's play. Just catched the last few balls. Also, saw a bit about an hour before the close when Sarwan and Bravo were batting. Had school and an after school activity. Plus exams soon. Dang! But It'll only be till June 13 then I can focus on cricket again. Hope fully by then the West Indies would have mad some strides. Saw somewhere that WI are 4th or something to that effect in the ODI standings?

Is there inconsistant bounce or is it spinning?
Any impressive new Windies bowlers?

Lots of inconsistent (mostly low) bounce and turn.

Well the only "new" West Indies bowler in this series to date is Daren Powell. He played a couple Tests a couple years back. He looked really good in the first Test, but has had a couple control issues at times in this one. Still, he's been sharp in one or two bursts.

Narsingh Deonarine is primarily a batsman, but he was extremely impressive with the ball in the first Test. Good variation and accuracy.

Dwayne Bravo has bowled well in this match. He's not had the luck with him over the last couple of days, but he's been steady and purposeful.

EDIT: I don't consider Reon King new because he was established in the side before his injury in 2000. He's returned very well IMO. Accurate and does look the pick of the West Indian bowlers. He looked like taking wickets on day three - a rare sight on the day.

Looking at cricinfo score, match looks very well poised

West Indies lead by 119 runs with 5 wickets remaining
Stumps - Day 4

If they can add another 80 runs it could be a real contest. I still have southafrica as Favourites to win, but it can go either way if sarwan keeps going and gets support from the tail
