That there was run production. A few centuries in that series.
Yes, but...

"Interesting to note that 3 West Indians have scored 196+ in this series so far. When was the last time the West Indies got such individual run production?"

:p

Whatever it takes!!!
I think this is amongst the best innings I have seen from Lara (and I have seen most of them). The pitch was very up and down on the first day and SA bowlers were bowling reasonably well. Nel's first spell was horrible but he pulled himself up again and except Zondeki, I thought they bowled well. Even Zondeki looked good when he went around the wicket and got that lovely shape swinging away from the left handers. But looks like the pitch is slowing down as usual, making it that much less dangerous to bat on........ Is it that or that the Windies are not bowling well? I didn't watch their bowling yesterday, was too tired from having stayed up all night the day before watching the Prince.

The West Indies started poorly but bowled well after getting the initial breakthrough. Collins wasn't himself and Powell was a bit too Dillonish in his first spell. Gayle was superb IMO and Bravo was right up there too. King was admirably solid and steady. I don't think South Africa has gotten away by any means.

196 and bowled by a beauty.......Reminded me of the ball that Steve Waugh got him out with in the 96 world cup semis..... Apparently, Lawrence Rowe, the former great, once got such a delivery and said as he walked back into the pavilion "God would not have played that one".

Small odds he'll get a knock today, but hopefully I can see some South African clatter. Will be at the Oval.

Night-watchman goes finally, WI need to make sure Smith/Gibbs don't put on 300+ like they did in the last series.

Awesome knock by the maestro Lara but Smith you're my man.
Can anybody please tell me why we conceded 5 penalty runs yesterday? And what was all that bit about the umpire not seeing a catch? Something to do with Boje, I think.. I unfortunately missed seeing some of the play.

Someone scored a direct hit on the helmet sitting behind the stumps probably. I think it was Boucher.
