Please Pratyush... ignore, I did. It was tough to but I did. :(
Okay Jono. But I dont know what the guy means when he says 'I hope Tendulkar can make me eat my words.' When you accuse some one of being selfish, talking about him being immoral etc it is much more than saying some thing on the cricketing skills of a player.

Boucher is waste of space, personaly i rate him lowest in the world when it comes to wicketkeeper batsmen. SA can do much better than him

It might be the browser you're using then? I have no idea why it's working for me.

Wicket needed now. Either Kemp or Kallis have to go or SA should walk this.

Can Botha bat well?

Great work by the South Africans. They managed to win without Nicky Boje - something one would have doubted possible.

I know it's after the point now, as we won without either of them getting out, but to answer the question, I've only seen him bat a couple of times in domestic cricket, and yes he is quite a good batter.

His first class average is 31.89 or something- He definitely has potential!

Good win by South Africa. India didn't do enough damage with the new ball, and whilst removing Ontong and Smith in quick time gave us a chance, we needed to take wickets to win the game.

Despite the disappointing loss, I'm happy with the fact that Yuvraj played a terrific knock under immense pressure against a bowling line-up which had just ripped the heart out of the rest of the batting.

Pathan's bowling is still far too inconsistent. Soon enough he'll become more of a batsman than a bowler. I hope he improves.

Thanks mate.

I was a bit nervous for SA after letting India get 249/9. Especially since they had them reeling at 5/3

Whatever it takes!!!
Funnily enough, once again, I think I am more happy with this loss than some of the wins. Not really, but it says something about this side when they were 5/3 and 35/5 after quite a number of overs and they still end up getting 249... Awesome efforts by Yuvi and Bhajji. And I think the pitch has played a part here, simply because this is the first international game on this wicket and there have only been a handful of games on this pitch anyway. I don't think the soil would have hardened enough and with whatever little early morning moisture was there, the ball can hold up after pitching and also do funny things. But as I said during the Sri lanka series, you have to bowl well enough to make that count and full props to the RSA pace attack for putting the ball in the right areas and forcing indiscretion from the batters.

It was quite a comback by India, amassing 249 after being 35-5 is no mean feat. I think batting wise, India will alwasy be strong - theres too much batting quality in that team for them to falter on a regular basis.

The real issue here is the bowling, pathaan is fast becomming India's answer to Razzaq (medium pace trundler - Big hitter), Agarkar is, well, agarkar and Harbhjan Singh is never really going to win you a match. The new guy Singh (the other one) seems ok (from what I heard...apparently quite fast?) but is still very much a rookie.

If India want to be serious contenders for the WC, they are going to need one truely world class bowler, who can swing the match with a devestating spell. NZ have bond, Eng have flintoff/harmison/jones, Aus have McGrath/Lee, Pak have akhtar. Unless India can find someone of a similar ilk, Im afraid that their WC dream will end in dissapointment (not that I mind too much)

He's been bowling too slowly in the recent past. He's capable of bowling a lot faster than he is these days, sicne in early 2004, he bowled more than a few in the 140's– that can be raised a lot more.
Agarkar is, well, agarkar
He's just plain useless. He'll get wickets for not too many, but more by luck than pressure. He's not likely to have much of an impact in a match. By all means a strange choice for a strike bowler.

You have to find someone and back him to the hilt, even if he's inexperienced. They won't get that world class pacer if they continue opening the bowling with that inconsistent dwarf. Bring on VR Singh and Sreesanth!

Again the biased troll keeps blabbering. Ohter players failed too but we dont find any thing written on them.
Only person that is biased here is you and all other blind SRT fans..who want to worship him despite his failure to perform in pressure situations. Five in a Row now. Now go and worship him.

Woohhoo!! 19!! The train keeps rolling...

Made me smile to see umpteen thousand quiet indian fans on TV.. If Kemp could bowl he'd be being touted as the next Botham by now.. Couldn't quite believe it when India were 35/5 when I woke up, and next time hopefully we won't let them back in the contest.. Here's to 2/0!

My prediction is South Africa to be the best ODI nation by far come 2007 , and Andre Nel to be involved in a brawl which sees us exit from the next world cup in the group stages.. I can sense it already..

And for once, I totally agree with Sanz, the only way you go from God like status is down i'm afraid.. And Sachin is falling the hard way

But when he was bowling quicker wasn't he getting worse figures?

Speed is not everything.

Actually he's been consistently wayward and has occasionally got wickets while being expensive most of the time.
