No, that would be the Michael Clarke with the test bowling average of 21 :)
8-) I always forget!

Anderson would need to get 0-179 in this game to take his season's Test average up to 30. And right now it looks unlikely he'll bowl anywhere near that number of overs.

To be fair he's always looked good when taking wickets. It was just when he wasnt taking wickets he was going for runs. At least lately when he hasnt taken wickets he's also kept it tight. Wonder if he;s got better or just got lucky that one ones gone after him.

Well Anderson's not going to be getting a nought-for.

Flintoff already back into the game at slip.

dont worry, i would not be surprised if by the end of this series we will have at least 2 if not 3 bowlers from our ashes winning attack. you can tell how well a side is bowling from how good smith is looking.
Jones, Harmison and Hoggard all bowling well this season to make a recall warrented. Its just history will hold Harmison back and Hoggard seems to have lost favor with the selectors.

I said a couple of weeks ago that it'd take a minor miracle to get Hoggard back in the Test team and Pattinson being selected ahead of him is what I meant.

For no good reason, selectors seem to have decided he's gone for good.

Has to be AF IMO.

He's the best bowler and can swing the new-ball - he needs to have it emphasised to him that he should.
Someone please wake me up when Flintoff manages to swing the ball (other than reverse swing) or when Mrs McKenzie is shown on screen again.

as long as england persist with a 5 man bowling attack i cannot see how jones wont be back before the end of the series. hoggard's selection is imminent if siders stays injured unless pattinson bowls as well as he has been domestically.

Apart from Anderson's opening delivery, each and every England bowler has so far today got it to do sod-all.

That's the nature of Headingley when the cloud disappears. Most other grounds you can still swing a good ball if it's new regardless of the skies, but not here today.

But hang on a minute...

There's no such thing as "conditions where it swings" - the ball will always swing if it's in the right state, and won't if it's not. Jones and Flintoff are swing-bowlers, because they swing the ball.

As I said - sometimes at Headingley, for whatever reason, it's different.

This isn't the first time this season either however - it barely did a thing at Old Trafford either, regardless of the condition of the skies.

Maybe this is just a poor ball, who knows - but it's not the first time I've seen this at Headingley.
