Strange decision there in bringing on Nel for Botha. He gets his first wicket, and on comes a batsman who is renowned for having a slog, and instead of leaving the spinner on, who would have a good chance of a second wicket. Hardly showing faith in your younger players.

'Right on a length as well,' says Grieg on Nel's little roll. That's interesting...
Of course, it would only help the Aussies

As Nicholas said, it must be some captain's hunch or some thing - as soon as Symonds comes on, Nel comes back..

More to do with that than showing lack of confidence in Botha IMO.

They tried spin against Symonds early on in the last test, and it clearly didnt work. It basically just let Symonds get his eye in. I'd back Nel to get Symonds early in his innings more than I'd back Botha.

It's more to do with the fact that Symonds is a 'nicker'. Good move from Smith.

Century!

He was dodgy early on and plumb later. But he kept attacking and playing strokes. Kudos Ponting.

Someone worked out earlier that if Ponting carries on at a similar rate for the next 5 years, he'll have 46 hundreds by the time he's 36.

Pretty amazing strike rate considering the no. of shots he plays.

So dar has given not out for Hussey, Ponting and Symonds all plumb.

And last ball of the over too looked out.
Couldnt give the first one out, looked to be sliding down leg.

Second looked closer but not replay (???)

Maybe tv is having mercy on Dar.

First one was plumb. As hawk eye showed it would hit leg. Even though Healy disagrees.

Second one - it would go higher according to hawk eye.

Seems whatever happens, they wont get an lbw from Dar today.

Langeveldt has bowled well all day. Quite a frustrating day.

IMO, luckier to survive the second than the first.
